The Final Word on Bharat Jodo Yatra: An In-Depth Analysis
Share on FacebookShare on X

With the culmination of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi has achieved many accomplishments. He has shattered the notion of being a part time or reluctant politician. The Gandhi scion has displayed his unwavering commitment to dispel the ‘environment of hate’ and spread love through the family-enterprise, Congress party.

In every nook and cranny of the nation, the populace is amazed with his un-withering immunity to tackle cold and display his sheer physical strength. On account of these multifaceted skills, voters across the nation are seriously contemplating making him the main challenger to PM Narendra Modi and possibly the next Prime Minister of the nation.

These are some of the observations and commentary of several “independent” experts who have hailed the Bharat Jodo Yatra as a major game-changer. From their ivory towers and air-conditioned rooms, they have declared that Rahul Gandhi has achieved tremendous success in “de-pappufication”.

Bharat Jodo Yatra

Bharat Jodo Yatra

The Yatra

The Bharat Jodo Yatra began on 7th September from Kanyakumari and covered 75 districts, 12 states and 2 Union Territories. The Yatra finally culminated in Jammu and Kashmir after traversing a distance of nearly 3,500 Km over the course of about 150 days. As per the claims of Congress sympathisers, the Yatra will herald a positive change in the political landscape of the nation. Under the leadership of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Yatra was attended by many “prominent” personalities from all walks of life with a stated aim of “uniting” the nation.

The prominent faces among them were Former Raw Chief AS Dulat, Former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, ‘Journalist’ Ravish Kumar, Actor-turned politician Kamal Hassan and politicians from likeminded parties among others.

Now, since the Yatra has come to end, it begs the question, did the Yatra achieve what it wanted to or did it fail to create a ripple in the political tsunami of the incumbent PM Narendra Modi?

Antithetical accomplishment of the Yatra

Contrary to the stated aim of uniting the nation, on multiple occasions the Yatra was accused of dividing India on the lines of “caste, region, religion and ethnicity”. Be it the Hindumisia by publicly patronising rabid Hindu haters like Christian Pastor George Ponnaiah, cow killers Rijil Makkutty and ilk or by pitting one community against another on the above-stated grounds.

For example – in his culminating addresses in Jammu and Kashmir, an anonymous entity or not-so-Rahul Gandhi (on account of his own claim that he killed Rahul Gandhi) re-ignited Congress’ old strategy of division. He instigated the local community by dog-whistling the outsider rhetoric at a time when attacks on ‘non-locals’ by Pakistan-backed Islamic terrorists have seen a rampant rise.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi virtually shot in his own foot every time he tried to sermonise the lessons he learned from the Yatra.

Rahul Gandhi exposed the party on the account doing or even planting the seed of appeasement politics. In a civilisation which have always believed in सर्वधर्म समभाव (Sarva Dharma Sambhaav), a perverted and politically-benefitting sense of SECULARISM was planted by Congress’ icon and Former PM Jawaharlal Nehru. In his last leg of the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi blabbered that it was his great-grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru who sowed the seed of “Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb”

He said, “I told you my family had gone from Kashmir to Allahabad. In Allahabad our house is on the banks of river Sangam and when our family went to Allahabad, they took along the concept of Kashmiriyat and spread the thought of Kashmiriyat. In Uttar Pradesh it is called Ganga–Jamuni Tehzeeb.”

For political agenda, rather than uplifting the downtrodden and left-out communities, Congress appeased several communities through these instigations, rhetorical statements and appeasement tactics.

Furthermore, in his own claim, Rahul Gandhi accepted the fact that there is no place for hatred and a negative atmosphere in the country. Meaning, it took an extensive 3000 km march to understand this unflinching reality of India from time immemorial. With his blabbering acceptance, Rahul Gandhi defeated the sole stated purpose of the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Rendering the Yatra meaningless for the party, voters, opposition unity or nation at large, the Yatra finally culminated by coming back to square one. From the start till its culmination, the premier agenda of Bharat Jodo Yatra was always to re-launch and impose either an incompetent or a reluctant politician, for the umpteenth time.

This is quite evident by the reportage rather planted scripts by Congress coterie and sycophants as stated above. The credibility of these media reports doesn’t hold water as in the garb of sources, virtually everyone has given platform to Congress PR agency and the similarities dispels all the doubt.

Rather than focusing on strengthening the party’s organisational structure, opposition unity or getting equipped with new issues to corner the Modi government, the Yatra’s success or effect have revolved around the persona of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, giving away the hidden motive of this extensive PR campaign in the smokescreen of the Yatra.

Also read: Rahul Gandhi has entered into last and desperate phase of “Hindu Todo Yatra”

Why does the political stunt give advantage to PM Modi?

With such political stunts, the fate of 2024 seems to be already sealed in favour of the incumbent Modi government.

The reason being that the opposition can’t expect a different outcome by making the same mistakes again and again. Till the time the opposition realises that it has to drastically mend its ways, it will cease to be the voice of sanity.

In fact, every one of the participants of Bharat Jodo Yatra had time and again accused that Gandhis are nothing short of liability for the party and opposition as a whole. With their incompetence, the Gandhis have destroyed the opposition’s cause.

They have destroyed every attempt of the opposition to corner the Modi government. The opposition could have rallied the public behind themselves by pointing out the bottlenecks or shortcomings of the Modi government or by raising unaddressed grievances of the general public but the Gandhis-led Congress has proved to be the biggest hurdle in it.

In wake of all these established facts, the so-called non-partisan personalities and Modi-critiques, who joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra, have invariably scripting victory of Modi-led BJP in 2024. In the garb of the Yatra, this attempt of re-launching will fall under its own weight. To reap economic benefits of being a Modi critique or in blind opposition, the detractors of Congress policies or ideology are hypocritically putting their weight behind the very person and political outfit they have regularly lambasted for their miserable present.

To put it simply, Rahul Gandhi demolished all the “stated aims of the Bharat Jodo Yatra,” be it dispelling the atmosphere of hatred or uniting the nation. The entire focus of the party and its ecosystem from the very start till the end was to carve a politician out of Rahul Gandhi, an incompetent person. Like earlier attempts, this extensive nationwide PR campaign will fail to change the ground realities.
