Sudhir Suri murder: The worst fear that Khalistanis would wreak havoc in the state came true after the formation of the AAP government in Punjab. Political murders fear and hate mongering, and attacks on Hindus and their temples are slowly becoming a regular affair in the state.
Khalistani supporters have been easily carrying out large public rallies in Punjab. Rather than acting tough against these secessionist elements, it seems that the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government has formed a back channel alliance with these anti-India forces.
State machinery surrenders before Khalistanis
Gang wars, acts of Khalistani terror, attacks on Hindu temples, and political murders have seen a sharp increase after the formation of the AAP government in Punjab. Under Bhagwant Mann, the Khalistani menace is raising its head with new fervour.
The audacity of Khalistanis is such that they have little fear of law and order. There have been multiple incidents where large hordes can be seen brandishing swords and guns and issuing life threats in front of police personnel.
Evidently, one more such horrific crime took place in Amritsar, Punjab. Hindu activist Sudhir Suri was publicly shot dead and that too in the presence of police personnel. The police immediately arrested the accused, identified as Sandeep Singh, and seized the weapon.
Notably, Sudhir Suri was staging a protest outside Gopal Mandir in Amritsar. He was leading the protest, demanding authorities take action against the desecration of murtis of Hindu gods and goddesses.

As mentioned earlier, it was alleged that the temple was attacked and some idols were broken. Some miscreants had thrown the deities’ idols in trash outside the temple premises. When Sudhir Suri was protesting against the authorities, Sandeep Singh stepped out from the crowd and shot him several times.
Prior to the incident, Suri had received several life-threatening messages. The intelligence agencies too had expressed the possibility of Sudhir Suri murder. Reportedly, the Punjab Police stated that security forces were there with Hindu activist Sudhir Suri when he was staging the protest and the incident occurred.
Punjab’s Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, stated that they are trying to find out how many security personnel were present at the time of the incident. Even after so many warning signs and the presence of police personnel, the failure of the Punjab police to avert this Sudhir Suri murder raises several questions.
Khalistani terrorists claim responsibility for the murder
As per some reports, Canada-based Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Landa has claimed responsibility for the murder of Hindu leader Sudhir Suri. It is pertinent to note that Khalistani terrorist Lakhbir Landa has been actively running a terrorist network in Punjab. He has been acting in connivance with Pakistan-based terrorist Harminder Singh alias Rinda.

Apparently, Lakhbir Landa claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post. The police have stated that they are currently verifying the authenticity of the post. Lakhbir claimed that whoever speaks about the rest of the community or any religion should be ready to face a similar consequence. He threatened that you shouldn’t assume that you would be saved by taking security.
Lawlessness in the state
After the horrific murder of Hindu activists Sudhir Suri, the opposition party BJP launched an offensive against the Mann government. Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma said that the law and order situation has completely collapsed in the state.
Several similar Khalistani terror acts and murders have been regularly happening in the state. After a few days of government formation, the state suffered 19 horrific cases of murders and targeted killings. The crime rate has been sharply increasing with the state government not waking up from its deep state of slumber.
The state witnessed large-scale violence and a strained law and order situation after the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Just like this case, he was also shot dead in broad daylight. Earlier, violent clashes were reported in Patiala when some Khalistani elements attacked the Kali temple. At a time when the state is witnessing horrific terror acts by Khalistanis, the entire state machinery of Punjab is busy campaigning for elections in other states.
