Complete abandonment of Nitish and a new CM face, Amit Shah blows the conch for Bihar

Jan Bhavna Mahasabha: There goes a quote by Mao Zedong “Politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.” The political war in Bihar has been continuing for more than 2 decades. It’s ironic that Bihar, which used to be the cradle for politics with politically aware citizens, has not been able to churn out a single leader who can end the cycle of misery of common Biharis. The state currently lacks able leadership that can revive the state’s former glory. RJD and JDU, one of the longest ruling parties in the political dynamics of Bihar, are trundling to their death throes due to leadership crisis and directionless politics. People of Bihar are left with no option other than looking up to the BJP and parallelly BJP has realised that it has no alternative other than to start grooming the next Chandragupta to stay pertinent in the political sphere of Bihar.

Amit Shah’s rally ‘Jan Bhavna Mahasabha’ in Bihar’s Purnea

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is currently on a two-day visit to the state. While addressing a rally in Bihar’s Purnea, he effectively launched BJP’s solo election campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He launched a blitzkrieg against former ally Nitish Kumar. Shah lambasted the Janata Dal (United) leader for betraying the People’s mandate. He stressed that Nitish Kumar, for his prime ministerial ambition, stitched alliance with its all-weather rival RJD.

The rally, named ‘Jan Bhavna Mahasabha’, is the first rally organised by BJP in the state after Mr Kumar walked out of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) last month. He categorically highlighted the BJP’s magnanimous gesture – making a CM from a smaller alliance partner, and reminded him of his political promise.

Hitting out at CM Nitish Kumar, the union Home minister said, “Nitish Kumar’s party had won only half as many seats as BJP in the last Bihar assembly elections. Even then, Modi ji allowed Nitish Kumar to be the Chief Minister because he had promised that in Bihar, the alliance [NDA] will work under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. Yet, he betrayed us. His prime ministerial ambition made him join hands with Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav.”

He went on to say that “Nitish Kumar has only one objective: To cling on to power at any cost. But he now stands exposed before the people of Bihar, who will no longer give him the benefit of the doubt.”

Further, the Union Minister added, “People of Bihar know that in the next elections, only Modi ji’s lotus [BJP’s electoral symbol] will bloom in Bihar.”

During his speech, the union Home Minister listed several Central government projects in the state, including an airport. Addressing the crowd, Mr Shah said, “Arre taaliyaan bajao. Yeh airport aap ke liye banaya hai” (Applaud, we have built this airport for you).

Later, he shared a clip of his “Jan Bhavna Mahasabha” rally on his twitter handle.

Tejaswi Yadav an extinguishing lamp

There is a famous proverb “Empty vessels make the most noise.” On similar lines, Politicians devoid of political ideology (empty loss cannons) try to make more noise on media platforms to stay alive in the memories of the public. Tejaswi Yadav, bootless product of Nepotism, is one of the most prominent leaders among such vacuous pots in the ‘Empty vessel academy’. He seems to have forgotten about the corruption and scam charges levelled against him. In ignorance or hypocrisy, the tainted RJD leader tried to corner Home Minister Amit Shah.

In interaction with media, he said, “His speech was totally laughable. He neither sounded like a leader nor did he sound like India’s Home Minister. He criticised the law-and-order situation in Bihar, but does he even realise how terrible the situation is in Delhi, the place he is based in? Delhi holds the No 1 position in crime and yet he was referring to ‘jangal raaj’ in Bihar.”

The RJD leader further added “He [Mr Shah] didn’t say anything about price rise and unemployment. He came to Bihar to disturb the atmosphere here. He is now talking about making Bihar the No 1 state in India. My question is, even after having ruled in Bihar for so many years, why didn’t he and his party make Bihar the No 1 state?”

Time is running out for JDU- RJD alliance government

With Nitish Kumar switching his political partner over and over, he has lost whatever leverage and trust he enjoyed among the voters. His party is witnessing a sharp decline in its political capital. He will soon realise the internal politics in the alliance as RJD would try to push its alliance partner to the corner and eat into its areas, voter base and party organisations. He has burned all his bridges with his incessant flip-flops.

Moreover, Nitish Kumar will have to face the brunt for the grave allegations levelled against his current alliance partner and with it, his roads to ‘sannyas yatra’ towards Himalayas is all visible. As far as RJD and its top leadership is concerned, it has to come out clean on multitude of corruption allegations levelled against it. Otherwise, the burden of these serious cases will drown its dwindling ship. People have demonstrated in many elections that they have no tolerance for corrupt leaders and will boot out netas drunk on power and money, RJD being pushed out of power multiple times by the people of Bihar should not forget the very memory of it.

The National party BJP, which emerged as the single largest party during the last state assembly elections, has shown the firm resolve to go solo in the upcoming elections. If it can repeat the political success it did in UP against Mahagathabandan (SP-BSP) and aim for 50% plus vote bank, the state politics may witness tectonic shift in near future. The least they will have to do is choose a good face and clean political intensions for Bihar. With this ‘Jan Bhavna Mahasabha’, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has blown the trumpet for changing the politics of the state. Let’s wait and watch the changing political atmosphere of state hoping that all goes well for Bihar.
