Their allegiance is with ‘The only Fatherland’, that’s why Communists don’t value Tiranga

A day ahead of the 75th Independence Day, the nation is prepping up to celebrate India’s independence in a grandeur manner. The government had also launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. With this campaign, the government aimed at encouraging people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it.

Har Ghar Tiranga: A blockbuster campaign

On the 2nd of August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed the display picture (DP) of his social media pages to the national flag under the campaign. He also urged the countrymen to do the same.

To carry out the campaign, the government has also amended the Flag Code of India (2002) for the tricolor to be displayed in the open. From the Bollywood celebs to the opposition, everyone welcomed the decision to put the national flag as profile picture on social media platforms.

Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Rahul Gandhi, Prabhas and many more, put the Tricolour as their profile picture, in order to show respect towards Tiranga. The government organisations, NGOs and common citizen can also be seen respecting the national flag in their own different ways.

Opposition gheraoes RSS, RSS responds back in style

You cannot expect liberals to let anything run smoothly. Har Ghar Tiranga is no different. They found a way to politicise it too and came out with a meaningless claim to attack RSS. Congress and other Opposition parties began criticising RSS over its stand on the national flag.

Congress’ General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, in an indirect manner, asked if RSS would comply with the Prime Minister’s message to make the ‘Tiranga’ the profile picture of social media accounts.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), on Friday, changed profile pictures of its social media handles to the national tricolour from its traditional saffron flag. The organisation also stated that “The RSS has already extended its support to ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programmes.”

Communists do not respect national flag

You see, there are hardly any politicians, celebrities, or even common men who refused to abide by PM Modi’s message to put the national flag as their DP on social media. Fortunately, they understood that the national flag should never be politicised and needed to be respected at any cost no matter what.

However, CPIM – Communist Party of India (Marxist), hardly understands the importance of tricolour. They have not changed the DP on their social media platforms and their profile picture still shows hammer and sickle which is the symbol of their party.

Communists’ allegiance is with ‘The only Fatherland’

Communism in its simplest form is the redistribution of resources itself. It is the brainchild of Karl Marx, the German philosopher of the 19th Century. Communism actually began from Soviet Union under the leadership of Vladimir Ilʹich Lenin following the Revolution of 1917.

In October 1920, seven revolutionary Indians who were inspired by the Communism met in Tashkent and one of the first organised left-wing political parties of India was formed. M N Roy, a radical activist, along with Lenin had helped evolve the Communist International Policy. Later, in December 1925, various communist groups united to found an all-India organisation under the banner “the Communist Party of India (CPI).”

But, you see, Communism is not at all compatible with democracy. Democracy in essence is a government that is ‘for the people, of the people and by the people.’  This is why Communism failed in India.

These Communists do not really stand by the nation’s side and it is evident in their each and every action. During the 1962 India – China war, it was the Communist Party in India that supported the Chinese and even told their cadres not to donate blood for Indian soldiers who were wounded during fighting in the war.

75 years till independence, nothing has changed. The communists’ allegiance is still with their Fatherland, that is, Russia. Lenin’s dictatorship of the proletariat eventually turned out to be a dictatorship over the proletariat. But they are still following communism.

The communists need to look at the other side of the spectrum in order to prevent the nation from becoming a dictatorship. Else, PM Modi should step in to treat these communists the way they deserve.
