The biggest threat that our country currently faces is the menace of Islamic radicalisation. Several Hindu festivals have been vehemently attacked just for entertaining their basic right of professing their religion. Communal Politicians, Islamo-leftist lobbies and extremist Islamic groups like PFI have started to brand secular places as a place for doing Namaz. Also, PFI has been alleged to be involved in a multitude of criminalities. Thankfully the authorities are taking strict actions to curb this menace from Indian soil.
Action of ED against Extremist Islamist Group PFI
The extremist group Popular Front of India (PFI) has been alleged to be involved in many illegal activities and violent protests. For this reason alone, there has been an umpteenth number of demands to ban this Radical Islamic group from every nook and cranny of the country. Recently, the Enforcement Directorate has taken steps to break the financial spine of this radical group.
ED has provisionally attached bank accounts of Popular Front of India and Rehab India Foundation having collective balance of Rs. 68,62,081 under PMLA, 2002.

ED provisionally attached at least 33 bank accounts of this radical Islamic group. The ED officials said that 23 bank accounts of Islamist organisation PFI and 10 accounts of a linked organisation called Rehab India foundation have been attached as a part of an anti-money laundering investigation against them. The seized accounts hold more than Rs 68 lakh which is alleged to be proceeds of crimes. The ED officials said that these actions have been taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002.

Earlier, the ED in 2018, had registered a case against this extremist Islamic group, PFI, on the basis of cases filed by state police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The ED also found that several members of the organisation had used proceeds of crime to fund several projects including Munnar Valley Project. Additionally, the ED made several arrests and attached some properties in the case. Actions against this radical group are not new as the authorities have been tightening the noose for several years now. Evidently, in 2020 it had carried out raids at several locations panning across nine states allegedly linked with PFI.
PFI: An Islamic fanatic group alleged for rampant Islamic attacks
Although many Islamic organisations have been spewing venom and straining the social fabric of the society, one organisation that is the front runner for radical attacks and violent protest is the PFI. It was alleged to be involved in the Delhi and Bangalore riots. Furthermore, in Karauli the Hindu community celebrating the Hindu Nav Varsh was attacked for chanting Hindu deities’ slogans. So demands for banning this communal bigoted organisation have not only been raised by ordinary citizens but several state leaders have flagged the same.

Evidently, the UP government of Yogi Adityanath called for a ban on PFI. The BJP government alleged that the organisation, along with its political front – the Social Democratic Party of India – had masterminded and financed the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Additionally, the Assam government has hinted that the Police had found some leads that point to PFI’s involvement in mob arson that torched Batadrava Police station.

So, a timely and strict action against these communal bigoted organisations is the need of the hour. Further, the government should ban this radical group under relevant sections of the law and protect the young minds from their nefarious communal motives. This action on their source of funding will be a death nail and sooner the country will be rid of this menace once and for all.
