A top-notch Islamist organisation of India – Popular Front of India (PFI) has now been exposed as a body which apart from harbouring hatred for Hindus and India in general, is also colluding with Turkey’s rabidly jihadist Erdogan regime, and conspiring with Istanbul-based IHH to foment violence in the country. A report by European research group Nordic Monitor has revealed that in October 2018, a meeting was held between top PFI operatives from India and Turkish intelligence-linked jihadist group IHH. As per the report, the meeting which took place in October 2018, comprised of PFI members -Prof. P Koya and E. M. Abdul Rahiman and IHH Secretary-General Durmuş Aydın and Vice-President Hüseyin Oruç at IHH headquarters in Istanbul.
Interestingly, Turkic extremist group İnsan Hak ve Hürriyetleri ve İnsani Yardım Vakfı (IHH) also has links with the Al Qaeda and was accused of smuggling arms to the terror organisation in Syria in 2014. The PFI conducting meetings with such an organisation should have ideally led to an instant ban on it in India. Since that is not the case, perhaps the central government needs to be reminded of the dangers posed by the PFI to India’s national security. The PFI has been accused of active participation in the nationwide anti-CAA violence.
TFI has also reported how Turkey is playing an active role in indoctrinating Indian Muslims and recruiting them for various terror organisations. Further, for disseminating anti-India narratives, Turkey has also been hiring media persons from Kashmir having separatist and anti-Hindu views. Turkey has emerged as a “hub of anti-India activities”, second only to Pakistan, according to those in the know of India’s security challenges.
Only recently, a PFI link has also been uncovered in the case of a Dalit girl from Hathras being physically assaulted, and the organisation using the same as a stepping stone to push Uttar Pradesh into the mouth of communal riots. Now that a Turkey-PFI link has come to the fore, the Union Home Ministry must not waste a single wakeful moment, and ban the Islamist organisation.
The report by Nordic Monitor stated, “The meeting was part of the Turkish government’s outreach to Muslim communities in the Southeast Asia region, claims the report. PFI had been chosen as it had endorsed Erdogan after a 2016 coup attempt and was promoted by Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency as a group whose members ‘were abused by Indian police’. The meeting was held to discuss promoting a partnership between the two organisations in various fields.”

While it is known that Turkey has been funding Kashmiri separatists for quite some time now, recently, it was also revealed that Turkey had been funneling crores of rupees into Kerala in order to indoctrinate the population in India’s southern, and unfortunately Communist-ruled state, while also helping in the recruitment of Kerala’s youth to various terror organisations.
With reports making links between Turkey and PFI clear, the government must immediately step in and address the serious issue at hand. The PFI can no longer be allowed to conduct its jihad in India, and for its activities, it must be brought to the book.
