NSA Doval’s statement on ‘Agnipath’ scheme should be read by every idiot protesting it

In the last few decades, the power of civil society has expanded exponentially, that applies to India as well. It has abundance of power and strength. To maintain balance in any society it is necessary to keep the power of civil society in check and central government’s new recruitment scheme Agnipath can be seen in the same light.

In the last two decades, the UPA government nurtured another fatal disease and India had to pay the price for not controlling the menacing elements in the civil society. Civil society is a bull that needs to be tamed, this was made clear by NSA Ajit Doval in 2021 itself. And to utilise the immense power of the civil society, Agnipath scheme has been brought, to cater to the youth of the country.

While some legislations and executive actions of PM Modi led central government tried to curb the influence of civil society, the Agnipath scheme aims to provide a direction to the youth-energy of the country. Though the announcement of the recruitment scheme met severe backlash from a particular section of the society, Ajit Doval has made it clear that the Central government is going to make no compromise on the matter of national security.

Ajit Doval backs Agnipath

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has backed the central government’s recruitment scheme Agnipath and said that the new scheme is based on PM Modi’s vision to make India a strong and secure nation.

While speaking to ANI, amidst the ongoing protests, Doval emphasised that there is a need to look at the scheme through a different perspective. He said, “Agnipath isn’t a standalone scheme in itself. When PM Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, one of his priorities was how to make India secure and strong. That required many avenues and steps. Agnipath is in that direction.”

Doval categorised the avenues into four heads- changes in equipment, systems and structures, technology and futuristic policies, manpower. This clearly transcripts to modernisation of the armed forces and induction of young blood into the forces. Thus making the armed forces young, agile, fit and well trained.

Doval has a message for the youth of the nation

On being asked about regiment system Doval assured that the concept of regiments will stay intact and the regimental system has not ended. He even mentioned that the Agniveers will never constitute the whole army, hence keeping the tradition of discipline same as before.

Responding to the widespread protests, NSA Doval made it clear that there are two sections of people protesting- one which is confused and misled and the second one which wants anarchy and unrest in the nation.

NSA Doval launched a lethal attack on the so called protesters by saying, “Anyone who wants to join the defence forces would be at home preparing. But those who are burning public property have vested interests.”

NSA Doval while accepting that misinformation was being propagated, said that as the “confusion and fears are dispelled, many are leaving the protests.” Doval while putting the responsibility on the shoulders of the youth of the country said, “Every youth of this country who has got the desire and motivation and feels a sense of commitment to defend the country gets an opportunity. His energy and talent are used to make this country strong.”

Security is a dynamic concern: Doval

India feels proud to have one of the youngest populations in the world, which was suffering from a crisis and that was having not so young armed forces. But the Agnipath scheme will bring the average age of soldiers below 25. Now the question arises, what is the immediate need to bring down the average age.

The whole world is going through a change that was never predicted, the world is getting modernised in every aspect. And in the changing times, security is a major concern for nations around the globe, especially for a country like India that has a hostile neighbourhood. NSA Ajit Doval emphasised on the same factor.

He elaborated on how the concept of war is undergoing a great change. Doval said, “We are moving towards contactless wars and wars against invisible enemies.” Doval shed light on the aspect of technology as well by saying, “Technology is taking over at a rapid pace. If we have to prepare for tomorrow and then we have to change.”

Doval said that security being a dynamic concept, cannot remain static, “It is only in the relation to the environment in which we have to protect our national interest and national assets.”
