Career
Chitra Kamaraj was born in Chennai on May 2, 1992. She worked as a television personality before becoming a full-time actor. After seeing VJ Chithra host a television show, actress Raadhika approached her with an invitation to star opposite established actresses Nirosha and Nalini in Radaan Mediaworks’ Chinna Papa Periya Papa (2016).
Her participation in later shows, such as Saravanan Meenatchi and Velunachi, was spurred by the success of the series. VJ Chithra played the character Mullai in Pandian Stores, which proved famous with the audience; following her demise, Kaavya Arivumani took over the part.
Chithra has signed a deal with Calls to appear in her maiden film part in mid-2019 (2021).
She would play a business process outsourcing expert in the film, which was shot in late 2019. It was also her one and only cinematic appearance.

VJ Chithra was discovered dead in a hotel room in Nazarethpettai, Chennai, on December 9, 2020. Suicide was suspected as the cause of death, and Hemanth was suspected of aiding and abetting her suicide. Hemanth was arrested on these accusations on December 15th.
In August 2020, Chithra became engaged to Hemanth Ravi, a businessman, and they married in a civil ceremony in October 2020. Prior to her death, her wedding was set to take place in February 2021.
According to The Hans India report, the Chennai Police have even mentioned the grounds for her suicide in their final report. Chitra had clashed with her mother over the phone on the day of her death, according to reports. Chitra’s spouse fought with her on the set of her serial, causing her a lot of shame, it was later revealed. Chithra was also rumored to be involved with another actor with a political background.

After investigations, the police submitted a report to the Madras High Court, stating that VJ Chithra committed suicide due to her husband Hemanth Kumar’s suspicious attitude. During the investigation, authorities discovered that Hemanth routinely fought with his wife about this problem and that Hemanth quarreled with Chitra and left the hotel on the day of her suicide.
