In what comes as a tight slap on the faces of liberals, far-left distorians and ancient history deniers, the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to set up a massive ‘Ramayan University’ at Ayodhya within the next 100 days. The Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh has marked this project as one which must be completed on a priority basis, within the first hundred days of the BJP government’s tenure. For the purpose of setting up a Ramayan University, 21 acres of land have been earmarked by the trust for the university.
Similarly, Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan will publish and release 10 texts under the Global Encyclopaedia of the Ramayana on the occasion of Ram Navami. Ramayan University will hold studies focused on imparting and strengthening Sanatan Dharma education. The aim is to reinvigorate the cultural research, spirituality and religious facts about Shri Ram. The university in Ayodhya will spread the values and teachings of Shri Ram, as well as tell the students about his life.
Doom for Marxist Distorians
First, it was the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Then came the turn of the enamouring Kashi Vishwanath Corridor at Varanasi. Let’s just say, beginning in 2019, liberals, leftists and their allied distorians are having consecutive nightmares. You see, for liberals, ancient Hindu history is nothing but exaggerated ‘mythology’. By virtue of the same, Shri Ram and other Hindu deities never really existed, per Marxist distorians.
Therefore, such species of humans do not want the glory of Sanatan Dharma to be resuscitated, and for ancient Indian history to be retold. They would rather want Hindu culture languishing in darkness, while Islamism walks all over India.
Yet, the Yogi government is rubbing salts on the wounds of such bruised liberals. Now, not only will they have to witness ancient Hindu cities being built back to their erstwhile glory, but will also have to live through times when the youth is taught about this land’s great culture, heritage and beliefs.
Ayodhya and its Revival
The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh and the Modi government at the centre plan to restore the former glory of Ayodhya. In the Uttar Pradesh state budget for 2021-22, the city of Shri Ram received around 658 crore rupees for its development and beautification.
Apart from religious institutions, the state government is also pushing the development of state tourism with a budget of a whopping Rs 100 crores in Ayodhya. The construction of roads and other infrastructure also attracted Rs 300 crores from the state’s coffers.
Since 2017, the Yogi Government has given a new life to the glorious city of Ayodhya. The beautification of Saryu ghats and the grand Deepawalis of 2019 and after were remarkable steps towards restoring the lost glory of Ayodhya. All previous chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh rarely visited Ayodhya. On the contrary, Yogi’s frequent visits and the special attention towards this holy city stand as testimony to the fact that he will not rest until Ayodhya reclaims its lost magnificence.

With the Ram Mandir construction going on full throttle, the local economy of the region around Ayodhya is witnessing unprecedented growth. PM Modi has been very clear about developing Ayodhya into a spiritual centre, global tourism hub and sustainable smart city. The Ayodhya International airport project too has been fast-tracked by the Yogi government after the Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University approved a proposal to hand over its 3900-hectare land for the big project.
The construction of the Ramayan University comes as yet another feather to the cap of Ayodhya, and once complete, will turn the region into a hub for Indic studies.
If they have established Aligarh Muslim University for over a century (it was originally a Muslim College set up in 1875, later became a Muslim University in 1920) why can’t we set up a ‘Ramayan University’ at Ayodhya, the native birth place?
