Roopa Koduvayur- Actor who grabbed SIIMA in her debut

Roopa Koduvayur is an Indian film actress, doctor, and classical dancer who is best known for her work in Telugu cinema. In the year 2020, she made her big-screen debut in the film Uma Maheshwara Ugra Rupasya, opposite Satyadev. She is set to be in Bigg Boss star Sohel’s debut film in 2021.

Fame

Roopa rose to prominence three years ago after releasing a YouTube video in which she performed a classical rendition of the popular Baahubali song ‘Saahore Baahubali’ on the beach. She has almost 1,000 performances under her belt.

Education 

She completed her MBBS from Katuri Medical College and Hospital in Guntur and wants to become an oncologist (cancer specialist). She has been practicing Bharatanatyam(Bharatanatyam is a major hindu form of Indian classical dance that originated in the modern-day region of Tamil Nadu) and Kuchipudi(one of the eight major Indian classical dances with its roots in the ancient Hindu Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra) since the age of 6.

Films of Roopa Koduvayur

The story of the movie Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya is as follows. Defeated and humiliated in a fight while trying to defuse a conflict among his fellow villagers, a photographer vows revenge on his attacker. Uma Maheshwara Rao, a soft-spoken photographer gets into a brawl with a bully and is beaten up on a busy market square. Humiliated, chooses an unconventional path to exact revenge. Roopa Koduvayur is a doctor and was cast in the role because director Venkatesh Maha stated that she wanted a girl who looked just like her.

As soon as the Satyadev-starrer Umamaheshwara Ugra Rupasya (UMUR) hit the OTT platforms, the question “Is she the new Sai Pallavi of Telugu cinema?” began circulating on social media. Roopa Koduvayur plays Jyothi in the film and wows the audience with her ethnic appearance.

Family of Roopa Koduvayur

Roopa Koduvayur has always been put to a hectic life by her parents. she used to go to dance classes, performances, practice, school, fests etc since her early age. Her father is an Army personnel and her mother is a cancer survivor. Her mother’s trauma of cancer made her pursue MBBS.
