Divya Sesha Iyer (born October 16, 1984) is a Kerala-based Indian bureaucrat, medical practitioner, editor, and author who works for the Indian Administrative Service. Divya S Iyer is the current Pathanamthitta District Collector. She was the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA’s Mission Director. She married a Congress MLA and they became Kerala’s first MLA–IAS couple.
On October 16, 1984, Iyer was born. She is from the Kerala city of Thiruvananthapuram. Sesha Iyer, a former Indian Space Research Organisation employee, and Bhagavathy Ammal, a State Bank of Travancore employee, are her parents.

Family
Divya S Iyer married K. S. Sabarinadhan, a Congress MLA from Aruvikkara constituency, in Kumarakovil, a temple in Thuckalay, Kanyakumari district, on June 30, 2017, becoming Kerala’s first MLA-IAS couple. She gave birth to a baby boy on March 9, 2019. Her father-in-law is G. Karthikeyan, a former Minister and Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly.
Her husband is no longer a MLA. He was defeated by G. Steephen of the CPI(M) in the 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election by 5046 votes.
Education
Divya S Iyer attended Holy Angel’s Convent in Trivandrum and graduated from Christian Medical College Vellore with a medical degree.

Career
Divya S Iyer worked as a doctor before joining the civil service, and she continues to do so. She joined the IAS in 2014 and worked as an assistant collector in Kottayam before becoming Trivandrum’s Sub-Collector. Iyer initiated a voter awareness campaign with the slogan “My Vote My Future” in 2016 as the nodal officer of the Election Commission’s Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) and assistant collector in Kottayam.
She also penned and sang the song ‘Viral thumbil Nammude Bhaavi’ in 2016, which was released during a press conference by the District Collector to raise voter awareness and encourage voting.

Divya S Iyer thereafter became the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme’s Mission Director (MNREGS). Due to her important role in the #BreakTheChain awareness campaign during the COVID-19 pandemic, Divya S Iyer was named one of Kerala Insider’s 50 Most Influential People of 2020 in this role.
She was appointed as Pathanamthitta’s 36th district collector on July 12, 2021. In August 2021, she stated that she intends to continue efforts to combat the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as district development and women’s empowerment initiatives.
Iyer produced and submitted a report with forest division officers as part of the procedure to distribute title deeds to farmers in Konni in 2021, following the State government’s decision to award title deeds to farmers in Konni after decades of protests. Along with that she has many published works.
