Eat Right India movement, an initiative led by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), has been announced as one of the premier visionaries of the Food Systems Vision 2050.
The Eat Right India movement is a collective effort by all participants in the food environment. The Eat Right India movement acts as a critical health preventive action that brings about social and behavioral change through a smart mix of regulatory measures coupled with mild interventions to create awareness and build the capacity of food businesses and citizens.
Eat Right India movement motto
The Eat Right India movement motto is similar to the Gandhi philosophy of food and nutrition – eat safe, smart and healthy – and its main goal is to promote healthy eating by educating people and companies about the basics of nutrition and why it matters.
Therefore, FSSAI has embarked on vigorously transforming the country’s food system, providing safe, healthy and sustainable food to all Indians through the “Eat Right India” movement. Slogan of Sahi Bhojan.
Taking all these factors into consideration, the Food Safety and Standards Agency of India (FSSAI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched Eat Right India in 2018 with the motto of introducing a new food culture in the country. Safe and healthy to eat.

Goal of Eat Right movement

Activities under Eat Right India movement

Promises of Programme
In the next few years there will be a shift to a new food system approach through policy responses. This integrated approach is unique to a developing economy like India because it faces the challenges of scale, complexity, food diversity, and a large informal sector.

As the leading food regulator in the country, the FSSAI has a mandate to ensure safe and healthy food for all citizens.
