Four years after releasing his magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, director SS Rajamouli is back with another grand project. The teaser trailer of his upcoming movie RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt, was released on Thursday (December 9). RRR and its story unapologetically highlight the guts, glory, and patriotism of the Indian brave hearts that fought against the Britishers during the independence movement.
In a day and age where woke liberals and social justice warriors dominate the cinema space and churn out only formulaic and bland movies that have nothing but Hindu hatred at their core – RRR comes across as a breath of fresh air.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the movie plays to its strengths, which is one hundred percent action with patriotism, added with a tinge of Hindutva forming the foundation.
The story that inspired the movie:
At the center of the film are the stories of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, which have been given a touch of ‘fantasy’ along with Rajamouli’s artistic creativity.
While Alluri Sitarama Raju led the Rampa revolution in East Godavari and Visakhapatnam regions, Komaram Bheem led the Gond community, and united the tribals against the British Empire and Nizams.
On 7 May 1924, Alluri Sitaram Raju attained martyrdom when a British firing squad showered bullet rounds upon him, while Komaram Bheem sacrificed his life in October 1940 fighting the combined forces of the British Empire and Nizam Shahi. Roudram Ranam Rudhiram seems to be a fitting tribute to the bravery of these two revolutionaries.

The movie is unapologetic about Bharat and its customs:
In the trailer, Ram Charan can be seen wearing a Janeau, which is a rarity in Indian movies. Initially working for the Britishers, Charan’s character later switches side and completes his transformation by wearing ‘Bhagwa’ in his warrior attire while wielding bow and an arrow.
Touted to be India’s biggest action drama with a budget of Rs 400 crore, RRR doesn’t shy away from showing the Sanatan dharma in its shining glory. The charisma of Jr. NTR and Ram Charan is evidently going to pull the public with neat cameos of Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt piquing the interest of Hindi speaking, cinema-watching belt.

Jr. NTR’s Muslim portrayal in RRR initially received a heavy criticism:
In a 2020 promo, Jr. NTR was seen depicted as a Muslim wearing a skull cap and soorma. While a lot of people were thrilled to see a glimpse of NTR’s character, many politicians felt that Rajamouli had twisted facts. However, the movie makers clarified the issue, by stating that Komaram Bheem (NTR’s character in the movie) was hunted by the Nizam of Hyderabad, in RRR. To further put an end to accusations of muslim appeasement, they revealed a small plot from the movie, where they explain the reason behind NTR donning a skull cap – Komaram Bheem apparently projected himself as a muslim as a camouflage, to avoid capture and execution.
People flock to theaters to watch the trailer:
Such has been the growing anticipation regarding the movie, that hundreds of theatres across the southern states were booked for screening the trailer.
According to a News 18 report, owing to massive public outpour to watch the trailer, Vizag’s leading movie theatre association, Sarath reportedly wrote a letter to the local police demanding special security for their theatres.
The letter, wherein the theatre association was demanding protection for their twin theatres from 9 AM to 10 AM, has now gone viral on the realms of internet.
The film’ will be released on 7 January 2022, as director SS Rajamouli took to twitter to share the teaser trailer and remarked, “Hope these 3 minutes and 7 seconds symbolise #RRRMovie in all its glory :)”

The makers are expected to release the movie in 1000 theaters in the USA alone and that perhaps should explain the mad craze for the movie.
