Chinese authorities are panicking. And they have put 13 million people under a hard and strict lockdown in the northern Chinese city of Xi’an. There has been a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, and even worse, a recent outbreak of epidemic hemorrhagic fever.
New mystery disease in Xi’an
China is playing smart. The communist nation says that it has imposed a tight lockdown and has imposed strict stay-at-home orders because it has a zero-COVID policy for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing.
But what is forcing China to keep 13 million people at home is a new disease. RFA spoke to Wang, a resident of Xi’an’s Xixian New District. She said, “I am guessing that the latest wave of cases in Xi’an must be higher than the original wave in Wuhan.”

The local resident also said that there are rumours that the city could be “next Wuhan.”
She added, “No hemorrhagic fever was found in Wuhan [in early 2020], but Xi’an is now faced with a double epidemic.” The local resident also said, “Everyone in China is paying attention to Xi’an right now.”
What is hemorrhagic fever?
Now, what is this hemorrhagic fever? The CCP-controlled media does agree that there have been rising cases of the hemorrhagic fever, but it claims that the disease is non-life threatening. You know, just like the CCP had passed off Coronavirus as seasonal pneumonia.
Global Times, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) mouthpiece quoted a medical staff at a Xi’an hospital as saying that a patient with non-life-threatening hemorrhagic fever was admitted in the past few days.
The CCP mouthpiece stated, “Hemorrhagic fever is a common infectious disease in northern China.” It added, “Starting from October every year, some areas of Shaanxi [of which Xi’an is the provincial capital] enter the high incidence season of hemorrhagic fever.”
Meanwhile, the local residents stay worried. There is a viral outbreak threatening their lives and then the lockdown is making their lives even tougher. Wang said, “What I’m really worried about this time around is that we don’t know how long this lockdown will go on for; there’s the question of getting hold of supplies.”
China misleading the world all over again
Let me tell you something very honestly — China is lying, again. And to be brutally honest — if people in Xi’an or in China try to raise alarm, the CCP would kill them.
And when it comes to the ‘non-life threatening’ label of hemorrhagic fever, even Coronavirus was supposed to be a harmless disease that human beings couldn’t transmit to one another. The next thing you knew, the world could be talking about imposing lockdowns for spreading hemorrhagic fever.
So, yes you got it right. This is something really scary happening in China. And even if it wasn’t for hemorrhagic fever, the fact that the world has got physically integrated with China is in itself a very scary fact. Let me tell you why.
China had never told its true COVID story. Even the initial outbreak in Wuhan is estimated to be at least two to three times more severe than a spate of pneumonia cases reported by CCP officials.
Later, China kept talking about a zero-COVID policy, but the growing COVID-19 cases in populated provinces like Zhejiang, Liaoning and Guangdong, as well cities like Tianjin and Shanghai tells a different story. Even when the CCP was pushing the ‘everything under control’ narrative, lockdowns were being imposed in various parts of China. Even Chinese ports were jammed for several months leading to massive economic loss for the communist nation that thrives on exports.

Yet, it is not the Chinese economy that we are worried about. China is about to host the Beijing Winter Olympics, which by the way haven’t been boycotted despite gross human rights violations in Xinjiang and Chinese belligerence on all its frontiers. So, athletes and officials from all across the world would be participating in the event, staying in China and potentially export the virus to their host countries from China.
China is on the cusp of giving us a new pandemic — it could be a hemorrhagic fever or any new variant of COVID-19. In any case, the world should prepare itself because China is out to put humanity in danger all over again.
