There is no dispute in the fact that environmental protection should be a topmost priority but there exist various ecofascists including Greta Thunberg who are all talk but no action. However, Vinisha Umashankar is setting an example with her innovative ideas to eradicate pollution highlighting true activism for environmental change.
Vinisha vs Greta
Vinisha, reportedly, invented a solar-powered ironing cart to replace the conventional charcoal-filled appliance. The young environmentalist and a finalist for the prestigious Earthshot environmental prize, at the age of 15, called for action and not just anger at the global COP26 platform, unlike Greta Thunberg who once had attacked India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was a part of a conspiracy against India.
Invited by Prince William to speak at the global conference on climate change, Vinisha said, “We have every reason to be angry. But I have no time for anger. I want to act. I am not just a girl from India. I am a girl from Earth and I am proud to be so. I am also a student, innovator, environmentalist and entrepreneur, but most importantly, I’m an optimist.”
Who is Vinisha Umashankar?
Vinisha, a resident of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, began her journey at the age of 12 – by working on the ‘Solar Ironing Cart’. The idea came to her as she used to accompany her mother while delivering clothes to an old couple for ironing. Witnessing how they ironed with charcoal-filled cast-iron boxes with difficulty in heating, she decided to make their life, and the environment, cleaner.
“It made me think about the amount of charcoal burnt every day and the damage it does to the environment,” Umashankar said. Reportedly, producing and burning charcoal emits particulate matter polluting the air, as well as greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide which are responsible for climate change.
Greta’s attempt to demean India
Calling PM Modi a villain if he fails to do something about climate change, Greta had asserted, “Dear Mr Modi, you need to take action now against the climate crisis, not just talking about it because if you keep on going like this, doing business as usual, and just talking about and barging about the little victories, you are going to fail. And if you fail you’re going to be seen as one of the worst villains in human history in the future. And you don’t want that.”

Earlier this year, Greta mistakenly had ended up sharing an entire “Google toolkit” which intricately describes the global campaign being waged against India. The tweet was deleted by the environmental fascist soon, however, the damage to the grand conspiracy had been done. It took only some time for Indians to go through the extravagant documents, and soon, it had become clear that India and the Modi government were being made a victim of a grand conspiracy operating out of foreign nations.
Thunberg had also claimed that she was not scared of standing with the farmers who are protesting. Well, in order to demean India, she stooped to a new low to compromise on her own ideology as those protesting on the borders of Delhi were demanding a free pass to burn stubble and pollute the air.
Liberals, who have put Greta on a pedestal, need to learn from Vinisha, who has vindicated that action speaks louder than words, instead of following someone who is all talk and no action.
Scorned faces Greta doesn’t even have a fully developed brain and is only a 5 star activist. We know what the issues are but just asking everything to be shut down ia not a solution. Kudos to Vinisha, she has also taken her first step to solving 1 problem affecting climate change. It is the idea and implementation no matter how smallest steps are taken, which will bring about the change and not mere lip service or holding large seminars for the press and camera opportunities. Not to mention toolkits being made by pseudo activist to cause stir in democracies.
