‘India is occupying Kashmir,’ Jindal Law School hits the news for secessionist course material

An essay says, "In the name of 'national integration, India is occupying a region against the will of the people who live there," adding, "Kashmir is 'integral' only to the lives of Kashmiris."

As the admission season approaches, Jindal Law School, one of the most expensive law universities in India has again burst onto the news arena through a controversy. The course material of the law school has been found to be tilting towards promoting secessionism in the country.

Jindal Law School teaches secessionism

On November 7, 2021, Indian Twitter was taken by storm, when Author and Columnist Shefali Vaidya posted some excerpts from the curriculum of Jindal Law School. The excerpts are from the course manual of Political Science taught to students in law school. The course which has to be completed within at least a bare minimum of 13 weeks contains loads and loads of literature, essays, and articles which promote secessionism and anti-India sentiments.

Hi @MPNaveenJindal as the founder chancellor of @JindalLaw, do you endorse these course contents? If yes, why do you bother with the tricolour? Is that just for PR? pic.twitter.com/hVsWseBJIU

— Shefali Vaidya. 🇮🇳 (@ShefVaidya) November 7, 2021

In weeks 9 and 10 of the course, students are required to study a topic called Secularism, Religion, and Nationalism in India. The compulsory reading under the course material suggests a book called The Rise of Hindu Authoritarianism, Secular Claims, Communal Realities by Achin Vanaik. The book outrageously claims that RSS is a far-right force and when a Hindu Rashtra will be established, that would automatically translate into the torture of minorities.

The amazon introduction of the book reads as “The Sangh Parivar is a far-right force, whether seen as fascist or fascistic, that has longstanding, cadre-based roots in civil society and is determined to bring about a Hindu rashtra. This would mean a Hindu state in all but name, the permanent inferiorization of certain religious minorities, severe curtailment of rights more generally, the monitoring and isolation of those who would oppose by words and actions the forces of Hindutva.”

The curriculum is filled with left-liberals projects

The course also refers to essays and articles in which much tainted left-wing writers like Niraja Gopal and Pratap Bhanu Mehta have made their contributions.

The suggested reading materials also seem to make a mockery of the education system. A book called Fear of Small Numbers by Arjun Appadurai which is purely based on the conjecture that minorities will be suppressed in a capitalistic society has been suggested as a reading. Similarly, another book The God Market: How Globalization is Making India More Hindu which draws an unhinged and laughable conspiracy plot between the Indian government, Temples, and corporate India is being force-fed to the students.

Maoists are Adivasis’ sympathisers and Stone pelting on armed forces is justified-Jindal law school

In weeks 11 and 12, children are required to study Social Movements in India. One suggested reading refers to an article called The Naxalite Movement, the Oppressive State, and the Revolutionary Struggle in India by Ashok Kumbamu. The article refers to the Maoists’ violence in the Bastar district of Chattisgarh and tries to draw sympathy toward them by making a false claim that they are with Adivasis. Anybody who has observed Maoist movements on the ground is perfectly aware that Maoists do not want Adivasis to progress as once they see the light of the day, they won’t be looking back towards these separatist forces.

Another essay called Kashmir: A Place Of Blood And Memory by Nitasha Kaul which openly proclaims that Kashmir is separate from India is being taught to students. Going a step further, a book called Until My Freedom Has Come which tries to justify stone-pelters of the Kashmir and villanies Indian army and the government is also being taught to students. A quote from Koul says, “In the name of ‘national integration, India is occupying a region against the will of the people who live there,” adding, “Kashmir is ‘integral’ only to the lives of Kashmiris.”

Moreover, Christophe Jaffrelot, a french political scientist who is well known for promoting casteism and religious divide in the Indian academic circles is included in the week 13 of the course.

Not the first time

This is not the first time Jindal Law School has been in controversy for promoting anti-India and anti-Hindu curriculum to its students. Recently, a video of one of its professors, Shruti Pandey went viral in which she was promoting communal divide in the country by claiming that if someone is Hindu, then they are practicing untouchability. She also touched upon the much-derided unconscious bias theory and said that Hindus practice untouchability without even knowing it. It comes off as a ghastly attempt to gaslight a society that has been promoting goodwill for thousands of years.

Statements by #ShrutiPandey (Associate Professor Legal Practice and Director of the Centre for Human Rights at Jindal Global Law School) in the video:Prof.Shruti Pandey quoting a scholar,“You cannot be a Hindu without being a practitioner, every Hindu practices untouchability.(1/n pic.twitter.com/8cQFRTet5q

Left-liberals and the postmodernists- A tale of two rotten tomatoes

For the last 70 years, left-liberal ideologues had filled the academics with rotten theories to garner funds from foreign-based NGOs. However, after the Modi government came to power, they started to get challenged at every point. So, they have decided to double down on their theories by amalgamating post-modernism in them. The postmodernists simply do not believe in facts, logic, evidence, or truth. For them, the truth is just an oppressive arm of the Indian government.

It’s high time that we should start making our children aware of these ideologues. They do not believe in anything other than their utopia. Moreover, they have no interest in the welfare of any student or other human beings. Gullible student minds are just stepping stones towards their way to utopia. These intellectuals make their world on the dead bodies of millions of poor and dilapidated sections of society. Nothing else can explain a mindset that draws a six-figure salary from a capitalistic structure, lives in a free country like India but wants to spread communism and communalism.
