Liberals tend to demean those who bring prosperity to the country. Instead of acknowledging the achievements and applauding those who are a matter of pride for the nation, liberals peddle their agenda to humiliate India and Indians as well. In a petty move, a few left-leaning individuals are now attempting to disgrace IAF Group Captain Abhinandan Varthaman who was recently felicitated with the Vir Chakra award for a massive show of patriotism and courage after the Pulwama terror attack.
Abhinandan was awarded the Vir Chakra award
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, an IAF pilot, who shot down a Pakistani F-16 during the Pulwama terror attack, was awarded the Vir Chakra on Monday, 22nd of November. It was the Indian Air force who had recommended the Wing Commander for India’s third-highest wartime gallantry award.
Wing Commander Abhinandan was flying a vintage MiG-21 Bison when he shot down a Pakistani F-16. IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman scripted history by scoring the first-ever F-16 kill while flying a MiG-21 Bison as it would have been difficult to even imagine that a MiG-21 could possibly shoot down an F-16.
Liberals try to defame Abhinandan
Liberals tried to defame the nationalist Abhinandan for the commendable job that he had done. Thus, a day after Captain Abhinandan was awarded, Michael Kugelman, a Foreign policy journalist took to Twitter to discredit India’s success in shooting down a Pakistani F-16 jet. He tweeted, “To recapitulate: Today an Indian fighter pilot received a prestigious military award for shooting down a Pakistani F-16 jet that US officials would later claim was not actually shot down.”

It is pertinent to note that Michael works for the weekly ‘South Asia Brief’ of Foreign Policy which once had run a disinformation campaign to discredit India’s successful retaliation for the Pulwama attack in February 2019. Foreign Policy had published a news article titled, “Did India Shoot Down a Pakistani Jet? U.S. Count Says No.”
In addition to that, Chinese state-affiliated media person Shen Shiwei also made a shameful attempt to mock Captain Abhinandan for being awarded the Vir Chakra for his heroics. Sharing a derogatory picture of the then Wing Commander Abhinandan in captivity of Pakistani soldiers, Shiwei mocked him for the torture he had to undergo while in Pakistan army captivity.

Balakot airstrike
Pakistan based terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammed had launched a deadly terror attack in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir which killed more than 40 soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force. After the attack, India promptly assessed the situation and in pre-emptive anti-terror airstrikes, the Indian Air Force destroyed a major terror camp in Balakot, Pakistan, in which, according to intelligence reports, around 300 terrorists were killed.
Afterwards, Pakistan had violated India’s airspace on February 27, 2019, in which Captain Abhinandan who was flying a vintage MiG-21 Bison shot down a Pakistani F-16 Later, the IAF officer ejected after his MiG-21 Bison was shot down and was taken captive by Pakistan.
However, Pakistan had to send him around three days after he was taken into captivity.
The IAF pilot however maintained his calm and composure. He was praised by “politicians, strategic affairs experts, celebrities and the general public” for maintaining composure when Pakistan had released his video.

Liberals do not seem to understand the concept of patriotism and heroism. They only believe in the anti-India ideology and tends to follow the same. Well, what else can be expected from them if the only source of their bread and butter is to demean India. However, they must realise that defaming and passing derogatory remarks against their country and armed forces under the garb of Freedom Of Expression will not be tolerated any longer.
