A video of a girl hitting and slapping a cab driver in the middle of the road in Lucknow city’s Awadh crossing is trending online. On Sunday, the undated video was first shared on Twitter by a handle named Megh Updates with the caption, “Viral Video: A Girl Continuously Beating a Man (Driver of Car) at Awadh Crossing, Lucknow, UP and allegedly Damaging his Phone inspite of him asking for Reason”.

In another tweet, it was said that another man who came to the rescue of the driver also became the victim of the girl as she can be seen hitting him as well. She can be heard saying that the “Car Hit her.”

The woman could be seen slapping the cab driver in the middle of a zebra crossing and blocking all other vehicles from passing and as a result creating a traffic jam. Moreover, the woman could be heard shouting that the car allegedly hit her. Later,a traffic policeman can be seen intervening but the woman continued to slap the cab driver and also broke his phone.
In the background of the video, people can be heard saying, “Yeh ladki badtameez hai, itte der takk koi ladka ladki ko maarta toh fir log kya karte?” The video was apparently recorded by one of the eyewitnesses, where the cab driver can be seen urging on camera that “please call the woman police”.
Netizens stormed twitter, defending and sympathizing with the driver as the hashtag #ArrestLucknowGirl went viral. A twitter user urged all real feminist to support this issue of men. He wrote; “Calling out feminists to support the cab driver in #Lucknow Assault case! “The girl is wearing earphone listening music and walking. She may got hit by car accidently by her own mistake and negligence. Even after the hit she didnt get any injury means it was not a big hit. She should move ahead. But she showed the society the real face of PsedoFeminism.”

These kinds of incidents should always be properly investigated. This is not an issue of discrimination neither a case of gender inequality but it’s about basic human rights. As per the video, although the driver continuously requested to summon the police and asked for proper reasons, the lady refused to listen and continued to harass and assault him. Another man who came to the rescue of the driver also became the victim of her unrelenting assault. In fact even after a traffic police personnel came up to her she did not stop and continued to beat the driver.
These kinds of incidents weaken the concept of women empowerment. Can a man hit a woman without getting thrashed by the public? The poor driver did not even have the guts to do or say anything in his defense. The matter should be taken seriously, it was wrong to let her go and her proper details should’ve been recorded. Based on the evidence, a proper investigation should be carried after hearing both the sides;justice should prevail. If the woman is found guilty she should be held responsible and be punished because incidents like these sends out a wrong message to the world which further fuels hatred against women.
Reck less girl if has been hit by cab ,deserves it . There is a civilized way for dealing with that . Why she not yet been arrested

I think that boy-girl situation is not symmetric. You can’t “hit back” a girl. If she slaps you, the sorry you have to leave the situation, but it is not our culture to “hit a woman.” I sympathize with the man. However, I agree w/ his decision not to hit the woman.
