The junk adventurism of Rahul Gandhi seems to be reaching its zenith. Before the social media, lutyens’ media came to his defence in every political stunt, with the advent of social media, he got some criticism from the general public but slowly liberal bias of tech giants ensured he was immune to feedbacks. Not anymore, Mr Rahul Gandhi’s tactics to play politics and trivialize the issue of alleged rape of a 9-year-old child had been thwarted by Jack Dorsey led Twitter.
Now, Facebook has also come forward in slamming the Congress Politician’s attempt to politicize a sensitive issue like rape. Facebook decided to take down the post of Congress man-child Mr Rahul Gandhi in which he had exposed the identity of the parents of the victim of alleged rape and murder in Delhi. A Facebook spokesperson emailed the reply which said – “We have taken action to remove the content as it was in violation of our policies.” Mr Gandhi as well as the National Commission for the protection of child rights had been informed about the removal of the post from Facebook as well as Instagram. Through his post, Mr Gandhi had violated the provisions of POCSO, 2012 and Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
When the news of the alleged rape of a 9-year-old child arrived, Mr Gandhi saw a political opportunity in it. He soon visited the house of the child’s family and took part in a small protest for a photo opportunity. He then formally conversed with the parents of the child. He was so desperate and hungry for political points that he asked cameramen to take pictures of this conversation. Later he shared it on Twitter with a caption aimed at angering the innocent emotions of the reader. This act was in violation of section 23 of the POCSO act, 2012 and section 74 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.

Twitter decided to lock the profile of Mr Gandhi, and his insensitive actions were attacked by BJP and other parties. Soon, Mr Gandhi, under whose party’s reign the heinous Gang Rape of 2012 occurred, fabricated another lie claiming that the parents had given their written consent for the same. The lie got quickly busted with the mother’s statement- “We have not given consent to share the photos or reveal her (the victim) identity to anyone except the court,” “Neither I, nor my husband signed any papers”. In the wake of their Rahul Baba account getting locked, eminent Congress leaders like Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress General Secretary Ajay Maken and a reputed individual like former Union minister Jitendra Singh shared the same image on Twitter. The politics played by Mr Gandhi became so dirty that a woman Sushmita dev who is Mahila Congress President shared the same image without even caring for another woman.
Mr Gandhi who has a long history of manipulating the emotions of the people for his political motives should start undoing his actions now. It is to be noted that 90 percent political of donations of Facebook and Twitter employees go to liberal parties, and Mr Gandhi was promoted by social media giants for at least a decade. If liberals have started to take strict actions against Mr Gandhi, it is time to acknowledge that Mr Gandhi opportunistic political stunts hold no legitimacy in the eyes of the people. People have woken up and incessant lies and playing politics on rape are not the way forward for an opposition leader.
