Mohammad Umar Gautam arrested in connection to the massive Islamic conversion racket in the country and charged under the National Security Act (NSA) used to lure and convert innocent school kids as well. Reportedly, a teacher named Kalpana Singh at an English Medium school in Fatehpuri had sounded the bugle, three months ago that the Maulana was trying to force his way through with the children by trying to convert them. After news of Umar targeting deaf and mute students came to light, this shocking development has sent the authorities scurrying around once again.
According to an Amar Ujala report, Kalpana remarked that in 2020, Umar Gautam visited the school with 20 to 25 Maulanas. Before that, Umar had already frequently visited the school and had established a connection with the school authorities. Kalpana stated that Umar used to force teachers to teach English and Arabic to the students. However, when she protested, Umar used his reach and power and got her expelled from the school.
Knowing his evil intentions, Kalpana on March 20, earlier this year, filed a case against the manager of the school and his son, in which the police have filed a charge sheet. Satyendra Singh, the police officer associated with the case reaffirmed that a charge sheet had indeed been filed and that the school authorities were under the scanner for their connection with Umar and also facilitating funding through the school by using it as a front.
Apparently, Umar and his gang of ‘conversion specialists’ used to give alluring speeches about Islam and tempted the poor kids by claiming to alleviate them from poverty, if they converted to Islam.
Reported extensively by TFI, the duo of Mohammad Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi ran an organisation named Islamic Dawah Centre (IDC), along with their other associates. According to several media reports, it is being suspected that Umar’s conversion racket received foreign donations from NGOs based in the US, Qatar, Kuwait etc.
IDC has links with the Islamic Online University founded by Qatar-based Salafi preacher Dr Bilal Phillips, who is an associate of Zakir Naik. Umar Gautam has close links with the Global Peace Centre, Delhi, run by Maulana Kalim Siddiqui, who is involved in conversion activities especially in the Mewat region.
As per a Jagran report, what made Umar’s conversion such big in scale was the pyramid style multi-level chain that he created of agents. Reportedly, the perpetrators of the conversion racket turned the ‘converts’ into ‘agents’ for some money. These agents were then assigned to attract people to the alleged ‘motivation’ camp for which they were paid Rs 5000. Upon conversion, the agents were paid anywhere between Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000.

After being arrested, Umar Gautam has been quoted as saying, “I converted at least 1,000 non-Muslims to Islam, marrying them all to Muslims.” He also confessed to having converted over 1,500 children at school for the deaf and mute in Noida on the pretext of employment and money.

Umar, a radical fundamentalist and a fresh convert had only one motto and that was to convert as many Kaafirs into Islam and serve the interests of ISI and other vested interests groups that had been pushing his buttons for decades.
Conversion below the age of 21 should be considered illegal, not-valid and voided. Because below that age of 21, a person does not covert based on personal preference and understanding. and therefore should be considered as forced conversion. Conversions before age of 21 should be considered forced and there should be a law that would make it a criminal act with a minimum prison sentence.
