In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the government has extended the deadline for Aadhaar Pan Link Last Date by another three months. Anurag Thakur, Union minister of state for finance, stated on Friday that the deadline has been changed from June 30 to September 30.

The government has changed the Last Date for Aadhaar Pan Link for the third time. The deadline was originally scheduled for March 31, but it was later extended to June 30. In the midst of the pandemic, the government has once again delayed the deadline to provide relief to taxpayers.

The Unique Identification Authority of India, or UIDAI, issues Aadhaar, which is a 12-digit unique identity number. It is one of the most important forms of identity for Indian people. PAN, on the other hand, is a 10-digit alphanumeric number assigned by the Income Tax Department. A PAN card is required to complete financial transactions.

The Last date to link the Aadhaar card to the PAN has been extended until 30 September, announced the Central Government Minister Anurag Thakur on 25 June. The Income Tax Authority has extended the Aadhaar PAN liaison period by three months until 30 June 2021, from the previous deadline until 31 March 2021. Given the difficulty faced by taxpayers, the Government has issued a communication extending the last date for indicating Aadhaar Number and connecting it to the PAN until 30 June 2021.

The government has announced a number of relief measures for taxpayers, including extending the service between PAN and Aadhaar from September 30 to June 30. If the PAN becomes invalid because it is not established or implied as prescribed, the consequences of the non-performance of the PAN shall apply to the individual. The same shall apply until the time when Aadhaar is linked. It is mandatory to include your Aadhaar number when submitting your income tax return, apply for a new PAN and claim financial benefits from the state such as pension, scholarships, LPG subsidies, etc. As soon as you link your PAN with Aadhaar, it becomes invalid and effective until and unless there is a date for linking.

A person who has a Permanent Account Number (PAN) on July 1st 2017 and is entitled to receive an Aadhaar number has the right to associate the PAN with Aadhaar as per section 139AA of the Income Tax Act. The section stipulates that a person who has been assigned a PAN on or before 1 July 2017 and is entitled to receive the Aadhaar number must provide this number on the day on which it is notified by the Income Tax Authority. There are no other provisions in this section relating to Aadhaar, Aadhaar registration number, income return or association of Aadhaar with PAN.

Government extends the dates for the third time

It informs you that your Aadhaar is linked to your PAN. If the details on your PAN card, such as spelling, name, birth date and gender do not match those on your Aadhaar Card, you must submit an application with valid evidence that these details are correct. With Aadhaar, the Income Tax Authority allows users to link two unique identification numbers on their website.

The last date for Link the Permanent Account Number (PAN) to the Aadhaar Number has been extended until 30 June 2021. The decision was made taking into account the disruption caused by COVID-19, the Income Tax Office said on Wednesday. The process of filing tax returns is supposed to be the same, and the only change is to add the Aadhaar card number to the PAN if necessary. The IT department has set up an online facility to correct errors in names and other information in Aadhaar documents and PAN cards.

The central government has extended the deadline for the linkage of the permanent account number (PAN) to the Aadhaar card for individuals until September 30 to link their PAN to the Aadhaar card. The last date for the connection between Aadhaar and PAN has been extended by the government to 30 September 2021 the last date for connection between PAN and Aadhaar by the government. The Government has extended the deadline to submit the Aadhaar number to Income Tax Authority for linking taxpayers’ Aadhaar number to PAN by three months until 30 June 2021.

By linking PAN and Aadhaar cards, the government will be able to connect the company’s identity to its Aadhaar card and details of financial transactions on connected PAN cards. If someone does not connect their PAN card to the Aadhaar card by 30 September, the tax office will impose a penalty of 1,000 RS. The Panadhar link was first announced a few years ago, but due to the pandemic that has occurred twice, the deadline has been extended three times.

In the 2021 Budget, the Government introduced a new section 234H into the Income Tax Act, which requires individuals to pay a penalty if they are not connected before the deadline. Under the new section, a person who does not link their PAN or Aadhaar by the end date will pay a fine of up to 1,000 rupees. The section was introduced in the Finance Act 2021. When the government passed the 2021 budget in Lok Sabha last week, it inserted a new section 234H, which requires a person to pay 1000 rupees in late fees if their aadhaar is not connected.

What happens if you don’t link PAN, Aadhaar?

If a person fails to link PAN and Aadhaar by the end date, they must pay a fee of no more than 1,000 rupees. This fee, in addition to the other consequences that a person must bear if PAN becomes ineffective due to the non-indication of his aadhair. In this case, PAN holders will not be able to file their income tax returns, carry out the financial transactions required under the PAN and benefit from state benefits such as pensions, scholarships and LPG subsidies. For example, PAN cardholders who do not connect their PAN card to their Aadhaar card after October 1 will be able to claim higher tax deductions from sources such as TDs.

Aadhaar, issued to all Indians by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) or PAN, is a 10-digit alphanumeric number assigned to any person, company or entity by the IT department. In September 2018, the Supreme Court declared that aadhaar would remain as a valid and widely used biometric identification document for filing income tax returns and issuing PAN cards. If the documents are not linked, the PAN card will become ‘inoperative,’ and a penalty of Rs. 1,000 would be imposed. In just a few minutes, you can digitally link your PAN to your Aadhaar number.
