Ever since the start of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, the PM CARES Fund has been a major cause of heartburn amongst the country’s liberal fraternity. Perhaps astounded by the fact how people from all walks of life banded together to donate to the PM CARES after PM Modi’s clarion call, the liberals have spent no stone unturned in trying to malign the PM CARES Fund. Now, as India battles the unprecedented second wave of the Wuhan coronavirus, 551 oxygen generation plants are slated to be set up across the country through PM CARES.
Last week, the Modi government cleared the allocation of funds for installation of 551 dedicated Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) medical oxygen generation plants to be set up inside public health facilities across India. The funds for the same will come through the PM CARES Fund.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a statement stated that the in-principal approval for allocation of funds for installation of these oxygen plants has been granted by the PM CARES Fund. According to the statement, these plants will serve a major boost to oxygen availability at the district level and the plants will be made functional as soon as possible.
The statement read, “These dedicated plants will be established in identified Government hospitals in district headquarters in various sates and Union territories. The procurement will be done through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”
It is pertinent to note that Rs. 201.58 crores were allocated by the PM CARES Fund earlier this year, for the installation of additional 162 dedicated PSA inside public health facilities in the country.
The PMO statement said, “Such an in-house captive oxygen generation facility would address the day-to-day medical oxygen needs of these hospitals and the district. In addition, the liquid medical oxygen (LMO) would serve as a “top up” to the captive oxygen generation.”
Recently, the liberals also begun demanding on social media that the funds collected by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust be utilised for ramping up the healthcare infrastructure around the country to take on the Covid-19 surge being faced. Of course, that would leave no funds for the construction of the Mandir, but liberals are rather averse to culture, religion and civilisation anyway.

In case liberals have forgotten, the Ram Mandir construction and its subsequent administrative control have been handed over by an act of Parliament to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The trust is private in nature, and not controlled by the government. As such, its funds are not subject to any sort of government interference or direction. As a matter of fact, even the donors for the Ram Mandir are private citizens, who contributed all that they could for the singular purpose of their donations being used for the making of a grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
The good-for-nothing liberals just want to pull the Modi government down for the heck of it.
