Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan who is the perfect antidote to leaders like Asaduddin Owaisi, recently visited Sabarimala while also carrying ‘irumudikettu’ to the temple. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, a section of radicals was not pleased with his temple visit and hence proceeded to attack him on Twitter.
Last week, with his youngest son, Kabir in tow, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan visited the Sabarimala temple where they were welcomed by Devaswom Board President N Vasu. To have a glimpse of Lord Ayyappa, the Kerala Governor carried the customary ‘irumudikettu’ – the traditional bundle carried by devotees to the temple to the Sannidhanam.

While the replies to this tweet by a section of Muslims were supportive as they lauded Arif Khan’s visit, however, a section of radicals were least pleased about the Governor’s visit to the Sabarimala temple.
A particular radical resorted to cancelling Arif Mohammed Khan’s ‘certificate’ as a Muslim as he tweeted, “हम तो बचपन से #ArifMohammedKhan को सिर्फ़ मुस्लमान नाम वाला हिंदू मानते हैं, ऐसे लोग ना कभी मुस्लमान थे और ना रहेंगे, कुरान में ऐसे लोगों को ही मुनाफिकीन कहा गया है ये तब भी गुमराह कर ते थे कौम को ये आज भी गुमराह कर रहे है. हम तो इन पर शुरू से थूकते है, थूकते रहेगे”

Another handle claimed that Governor Arif Khan has sold his ‘imaan and soul’ as it tweeted, “Arif Mohammad Khan is not a Ganga Jamuni Muslim. He is an opportunist Muslim who has joined BJP to enjoy the benefits & perks of being in power. He has sold his imaan & his soul for that. He, MJ Akbar, Najma Heptullah etc are opportunists.”

A certain Yusuf Ansari was particularly enraged as he tweeted, “He is worse than an opportunist. If I were to describe him in the words that actually fit his character, I will likely be banned by Twitter. Hence I shall leave you with this little piece.”

Unfortunately, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has to face the brunt of a bunch of radicals for visiting the Sabarimala Temple – whose importance in Kerala simply cannot be understated.
