Well, it’s not an obscure fact that whoever vilifies the Modi government gets heartily rewarded by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In the most recent episode Chile, a South American country received vaccines from China as gift, just two days after the former Chilean socialist President Michelle Bachelet, presently serving as UNHRC High Commissioner for human rights criticised India for human rights violation in the protracted farmers’ protest.
But Indian Permanent Representative to the Human Rights Council, Indra Mani Pandey did not shy away from giving a befitting reply and said, “Objectivity and impartiality have to be the benchmark of any democracy and Human Rights assessment. We are sorry to see that the High Commissioner’s argument is lacking in both.”
Moreover, a report also suggested that after hurling slurs at the Indian government, the UNHRC High Commissioner was awarded $10,000 from the Khalistani terror group SFJ (Sikhs for Justice) – widely exposed as the instigator of the farmers’ protests and the Red Fort violence in New Delhi.
UNHRC High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet even requested a United Nations enquiry at her behest and later thanked the SFJ founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for his donation. She even revealed to him that such donations helped her and colleagues in their daily work and by contributing $10,000 to her office, he had joined an important group of “those who care and are committed to making a difference for human rights.”
This was not the only instance when the former Chilean President and UNHRC High Commissioner ranted against India’s sovereignty, erstwhile she has been a proxy voice for the propaganda of Kashmiri separatists where she raised her voice against the Indian government’s clampdown against separatists leaders and nuisance breeder activists.
It is quite conceivable that China needs its stooge in the UNHRC to counterbalance the narrative of its own mass human rights violation by the ethnic cleansing of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang province of China and crackdown of Hong Kong activists for demanding democracy.
As if spreading a deadly pandemic was not enough, now China is shipping inefficient vaccines with no public data or proven research. By proving the quote of Obert Skye – “Desperate time call for desperate measures” – to its face value, China is aggressively saving its face from mishandling the COVID-19 pandemic and desperately giving its incompetent vaccines to almost forty-five countries. Moreover, it doesn’t come as a surprise that a UNHRC commissioner is hurling slurs at the Indian government and propagating with pro-Khalistani organisations like SFJ right under the nose of another Chinese stooge Tedros Adhanom, WHO Chief.
