The Wuhan coronavirus pandemic revealed how the United Nations (UN) and its specialised agencies like the World Health Organisation have sacrificed themselves at the altar of the Chinese Communist Party as the global body has willingly become just another wing of the CCP. Now, in a move that further highlights how compromised the UN is, the global body has received a donation worth $10,000 from a pro-Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice.
Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), which has been outlawed by India “donated” $10,000 to the UN and simultaneously lobbied with the global body to set up a “commission enquiry” to probe the alleged mistreatment of the farmers by the Indian government during the ongoing farmers’ protests.
“We confirm we received a contribution of $ 10,000 on 1 March from an individual representing the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) group via our online donation function. In general, we do not decline online contributions, unless they are from groups or individuals listed on UN sanctions lists or the organisation/individual is engaged in activities manifestly contrary to the UN Charter or its principles,” said a spokesperson for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCR).
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the General Counsel to Sikhs for Justice stated that a further $1.3 million had been pledged from the Sikh community to establish a UN commission of inquiry (CoI) “to investigate India’s use of violence and sedition charges against protesting farmers.”
Pannun said, “As of my knowledge the UN has not established the commission. But we are pursuing the matter through the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.” Pannun has been designated as a terrorist by India.
The OHCR spokesperson categorically stated that there are no plans for setting up a CoI on India and offered to return the donation amount.
SFJ, which was behind Referendum 2020 has played a notorious role in the ongoing farmers’ protests. SFJ had offered a reward of $2,50,000 for raising the Khalistani flag at the India Gate, as well as, the Red Fort, on Republic Day. Sikhs for Justice had released a letter, along with a video of its founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannu where the cash-reward was espoused to incite the protestors looking to make some quick money.
Recently, Sikhs For Justice had appealed to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to unilaterally declare the independence of their respective states from India.
In its letter to Thackeray and Banerjee, Sikhs For Justice had appealed to them to ‘unilaterally declare independence’ from India as the radical outfit alleged that the country is exploiting the state’s resources.
As a member nation of UN, India has the right to initiate a petition and discussion to probe the matter on how UN can receive donations from India banned organizations. So proceed legally and ask UN and OHCR to correct their wrong actions.
Citizens of India also have right to petition against UN, OHCR and all other organizations for their wrongful actions.
