The Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena has become a raging bull, attacking anyone who dares to question the party’s supreme leaders or the Maharashtra government. After abusing Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and subsequently demolishing a part of her office, the party has also filed an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for pointing fingers at their Supreme Leader Uddhav Thackeray. The party’s paranoia knows no bounds, as now after arresting a Republic TV journalist, Shiv Sena is now asking cable TV operators to stop airing Republic Bharat channel.
The Shiv Sena’s message is clear: insult Uddhav Thackeray at your risk, especially if you live or have properties in the state of Maharastra. The party is misusing the government machinery to take ‘revenge’ on anyone who dared to point fingers at Uddhav Thackeray.
The Shiv Sena perhaps has forgotten that India is a democratic state, as in a blatant violation of the fundamental rights, the party has asked the local cable operators in Maharashtra to ban Republic media network or face consequences.
Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami issues strong statement taking on Uddhav Thackeray, after Maharashtra Government goes all out in trying to block Republic and intimidate jailed reporter Anuj. #FreeAnujNow #CantBlockRepublic (1/2) https://t.co/RZHKU3wOei pic.twitter.com/w1HyhETFoW

The Shiv Sena, in a letter, has asked the main cable operators in the state like Seven Star, Den, Hathaway, GTPL and many others to stop broadcasting Republic Bharat. Make no mistake, the party hasn’t requested the cable networks but ordered them to stop broadcasting Republic Bharat with immediate effect.
There are no prizes for guessing on who the Shiv Sena lists as their advisor and guide, the motormouth Sanjay Raut — the Thackeray family’s lackey who thinks that Uddhav Thackeray is fit to advise the World Health Organisation.
The involvement of Sanjay Raut in the Shiv Sena further indicates that such threatening tactics have been ordered from someone who sits at the top of the food chain.
This development comes after Republic TV refused to buckle under the Maharashtra government’s pressure as it continues to relentlessly investigate the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput and the media network’s complete support to Kangana Ranaut.
As if abusing and demolishing a part of Kangana’s office wasn’t enough for Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, the party has gone ahead and filer an FIR against the actor as she addressed their supreme leader as “tu”.
Already, in a blatant violation of the country’s democratic principles, the Thackeray-led Maharashtra government arrested Republic journalist Anuj, his cameraman and even the driver, and are refusing to release the Republic journalist.
However, such intimidating tactics are unlikely to ruffle even a single hair of Arnab Goswami. Earlier this year, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government had attempted to harass and scare him away from reporting the Palghar lynching case by repeatedly calling Goswami for interrogation.
The Uddhav Thackeray government is bringing back the spine chilling memories of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s infamous jungle raj. Thackeray is behaving like a man who knows that the end of his political career is near.
