Having literally manufactured the Coronavirus Pandemic that is fomenting trouble across the world, the “World’s factory” which has gone beyond manufacturing just export goods, is now looking to profiteer out of the novel virus.
In what can only be described as an deceitful and absolutely shocking stance of the Chinese regime on the issue, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson has claimed that the US military might have brought the Coronavirus to the Wuhan city in the Hubei province of China. Moreover, a Chinese mouthpiece has sent out a veiled threat to the US that China shall block export of masks to the US if it does not lift restrictions on sale of technologies to Chinese tech giant Huawei.
This comes amidst Washington’s criticism of China’s unduly slow response to the Coronavirus outbreak that has taken the shape of an epidemic and brought the entire global economy to a grinding halt. With global economic activity and travelling getting restricted, all major economies are going through a turbulent phase.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry official, Zhao Lijian has tweeted, “When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!”
Needless to mention, the official did not furnish any evidence to back his outlandish and outrageous claims.

It is a well-known fact that the virus originated somewhere in the unhygienic wet markets of China. Ever since the virus originated in China a conscious attempt was made to downplay is intensity and hide the real data as the Dragon wanted to escape responsibility for having created a major Pandemic for the entire world.
Now, Beijing wants to scapegoat the United States and blame its military for introducing the novel and deadly virus into China. But then this is just the tip of the iceberg, the Communist regime in China has gone a step ahead and has tried to draw sadistic pleasure out of the Covid 19, by using it against the US administration on totally sovereign matters.
Writing about Covid-19, Global Times, China’s vicious mouthpiece that had recently gone to the extent of hinting at assassination of US Republican Senator, Ted Cruz over his support for the “Taiwan Symbols of Sovereignty Act,”
The Chinese mouthpiece had issued an open threat, quoting a Chinese analysts as saying, “US move to restrict sales of technology to Huawei may backfire amid the #COVID19, as China could ban the export of face masks and other medical gear to America.”

It is to be kept in mind that the United States had blacklisted Huawei over charges of espionage and doing business with Iran. Sovereignty and security issues had weighed heavily upon the Trump administration in its decision to ban Huawei.
Now, the Coronavirus Pandemic and Huawei are totally unrelated issues. It is rather below the belt for the Communist regime in China to use the public health risks and crisis triggered by Covid-19 to extort the United States into accepting Huawei.
The Trump administration has been considering amending US regulations, paving the way for blocking the supply of semiconductor chips to Huawei from companies based outside the United States such as Taiwan-based TSMC.
But given the serious health situation in the United States, China I want to hold the Trump administration to ransom and use a disease for furthering its economic motives- something that sounds unprecedentedly inhuman and crass on the part of Beijing.
China is ramping up the production of face masks even as the epidemic has slowed down in the country, while the outbreak continues to intensify in the rest of the world. Other countries are also bound to import Chinese medicinal products as the Pandemic has also led to shortages in countries across the globe.
Accordingly, the US too has granted exclusions to the Chinese medicinal products, which China wants to exploit to the fullest possible extent.
Coronavirus is a disease of China’s own making and Beijing, instead of owning up to the global catastrophe that it has created, is actually using it for economic profiteering and ddrawing sadistic pleasure from the world’s misery even as it refuses to share its coronavirus experience and data. Ideally, China must have cooperated with the rest of the world in fighting the outbreak, but it is actually leveraging the pandemic for economic gains.
As inhumane and unconscionable as it may be, but with Global Times, a mouthpiece of the Chinese government issuing an open threat to the US using Covid-19, it seems that Beijing is all set to use the Pandemic for pushing its specific political and economic objectives.
