From Maharaja to Gaddar, shell-shocked Congress runs a smear campaign against entire history of Scindia royals

Yesterday, on the 75th broth anniversary of late Madhavrao Scindia, his son Jyotiraditya Scindia inflicted a telling blow upon the Congress by severing ties with the grand old party.

The Congress which is getting continuously decimated at a pan-India level has now lost yet another state and that too one of the most crucial states in India’s political context, Madhya Pradesh.

While preference for the old guard led by Kamal Nath over the young leader was the main cause behind the resignation of Scindia and 22 other MLAs which has led to the collapse of the Congress government in the state, the party has now launched a smear campaign in a desperate attempt to tarnish the image of not only Jyotiraditya Scindia, but also his entire family.

A number of Congress leaders have attacked not only Scindia, but also his family roots. Mounting an assault upon, a bitter Gandhi family loyalist and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot tweeted, “Mr Scindia has betrayed the trust of the people as well as the ideology. Such people proves they can’t thrive without power. Sooner they leave the better.”

Son of former Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, K. Chidambaram also took a dig at Jyotiraditya Scindia and tweeted, “I understand ambition. But is ideology irrelevant?”

While K. Chidambaram and Ashok Gehlot have launched bitter and acrimonious attacks upon the Scindia dynast, several other Congress leaders have stooped even further going seriously below the belt and attacking Jyotiraditya’s family roots.

For several decades, Congress has tried to woo the Scindia dynasty, but now it is labelling them as traitors and back-stabbers. Jitu Patwari, a controversial Congress leader and Cabinet Minister of Higher Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Madhya Pradesh has tweeted about Vijayaraje Scindia’s decision to quit the Congress in 1967 and also took a dig at the Scindia family for its ‘betrayal’ during the 1857 rebellion against the East India Company.

He has also tried to label Jyotiraditya a backstabber by claiming that something similar was happening.

— Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari (@jitupatwari) March 10, 2020

Not just Patwari, but the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) chief Srinivas B V has also taken a jibe at Jyotiraditya Scindia by attacking the roots of his family. Srinivas B V thanked Sonia Gandhi for ‘expelling’ the Scindia dynast “who was promoting anti-party activities and factionalism”. The Congress leader added, “The history of 1857 and 1967 was once again repeated.”

Moreover, Gaurav Pandhi, Congress National Coordinator for social media in the Congress also seems to have taken a dig at Scindia over his family roots. He said, “A traitor is a traitor and no amount of arguments and reasoning can justify treachery. Period!”.

Another Congress leader and former lawmaker, Arun Yadav was however most vicious and embittered in his Twitter thread. He called the Scindia family, a family of Jaichands and Mir Jafars, apart from blaming them for colluding with the British and their ideology.

— Arun Subhash Yadav (@MPArunYadav) March 10, 2020

Moreover, Congress’ motor mouth-in chief, Digvijaya Singh has also made a desperate attempt at vilifying the Scindia family. Retweeting Congress leader Manickam Tagore .B, Digvijaya Singh said, “Well said Manick. You are spot on. His Family has been with Hindu Mahasabha till 1957 then Pt Nehru brought Late Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindhia to Congress and she became MP in 57 and 62 and left Congress in 67. She was a Gem of a person and I have the greatest regard for her.”

— Digvijaya Singh (@digvijaya_28) March 11, 2020

Apart from taking a cheap shot at late Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia, the sycophant also tried connecting Scindia with Godse and Mahatma Gandhi’s murder.

He tweeted, “Also the revolver by which Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi was given to him by one Parchure from Gwalior. Need to do some more research about who was Parchure.”

— Digvijaya Singh (@digvijaya_28) March 11, 2020

For decades, the Congress kept inducting Scindias, that is, Vijayaraje Scindia, her son Madhavrao and even her grandson Jyotiraditya in the party. But now Digvijaya suddenly recollects how someone from Gwalior was probably involved in Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Seven decades down the line, the Congress wants a probe into his role.

In fact, even the Congress workers suddenly seem to see a traitor in Jyotiraditya Scindia. In a video of the Congress workers that has gone viral, they can be heard sloganeering, “Congress ke gaddaro ko, Goli maaro saalon ki”, in a direct jibe against Jyotiraditya.

https://twitter.com/pokershash/status/1237399787898454016?s=20

Congress has fallen below even the dubious benchmarks that it has set for itself, by attacking Jyotiraditya’s ancestry and vilifying him in a rather crass manner. For decades, the Congress remained amnesiac because it wanted to exploit the dynasty’s popularity in the Guna region and today it suddenly looks down upon all Scindias as traitors and back-stabbers.
