As Sudhir Chaudhary exposes Zameen Jihad in J&K, deadly fire breaks out in Lutyens’ media circle

Sudhir Chaudhary, the editor-in-chief of Zee News, has been famous as a bold journalist who doesn’t really mind getting into those issues which are considered politically incorrect by the bulk of the mainstream media and are often avoided for the sake of being averse to their larger political agenda.

In one of such reports bringing out the issue of Zameen Jihad in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, which has been conveniently buried under the carpet all this while by the Lutyens’ media in order to carefully safeguard the menace caused by Islamists.

In his report, Chaudhary has exposed startling details of the land encroachment scam- ‘Zameen Jihad’ to be precise in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir. At the forefront, it is relevant to mention here that between the 2001 and 2011 Census, there has been a sharp alteration in the demographics of the Jammu region- while the Muslim population has risen from around 30 per cent to around 33 per cent, the Hindu population has declined proportionately from around 65 to 62 per cent.

In this context, the Zameen Jihad- a conspiracy seems to have been hatched in the form of the Roshni Act- an instrument to Islamise the Jammu region of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir. The question which arises here is what is the Roshni Act?

The Roshni Act was nothing but an eyewash to alter the demographics of the region. As a part of this Act enacted in the year 2001 by Ghulam Nabi Azad, it was aimed at ‘conferring 20.55 kanals of state land to the occupants’. The legislation patronised illegal occupants of government lands by selling away the land to them at throwaway prices. This is exactly where the claims of the Act being an instrument to change the demography of the region drastically come into picture.

According to Zee News, 25,000 people were settled in Jammu under the provisions of this legislation, while only 5,000 were settled in the Kashmir region of the erstwhile state. Of the 25,000 illegal occupants who benefitted from the Roshni Act in the Jammu region, about 90 per cent were Muslims. This was therefore clearly a State-sponsored attempt at Islamising and radicalising the Jammu region of the Union Territory.

People of the Jammu region have been complaining against this larger process of Islamisation of the region for quite some time but mainstream media chose not to raise the issue. According to an organisation, Ikkjutt Jammu, 50 lakh kanals of forest land was illegally given to Muslim religious organisations over the past 30 to 35 years.

During the days of the Mehbooba Mufti regime in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir, there were also concerns about illegal Rohingya immigrants being settled down in the Jammu region of the Union Territory.

The Roshni Act was stayed by the Jammu & Kashmir High Court and later in 2018, the Act was repealed by the government of the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir, after imposition of President’s rule in the state. All pending proceedings under the Act were also cancelled with immediate effect.

The Rs. 25,000 crore land scam carried out with misuse of the Roshni Act- the biggest scam in the history of Jammu & Kashmir first came to limelight in the year 2014 when it was unravelled by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). Presently, the matter is pending before the Jammu & Kashmir High Court.

The Roshni Act and its misuse is a shocking and State-sponsored perfidy against the indigenous Hindus of the Jammu region. These many years, Zameen Jihad and the land scam in the shape of the Roshni Act has been downplayed by the mainstream media, because it did not suit their narrative which is clearly sympathetic towards the past PDP, Congress and NC regimes in the erstwhile state of Jammu & Kashmir.

It took one Sudhir Chaudhary to expose these startling details and this is exactly why the liberal brigade is now fuming at him. Lutyens’ is outraging against Sudhir Chaudhary and unsurprisingly Rajdeep Sardesai is leading them all over again. He tweeted, “The unspeakable communal HATE being spread on a daily basis by this channel is shocking, shameful, dangerous. And it’s a channel owned by a govt supporting MP! Will anyone in power take note and stop this shit? Or indulge this further?”

— Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) March 12, 2020

Leftist portal run by Shekhar Gupta, The Print too published a silly story targeting Sudhir Chaudhary, which goes on to read, “To support his astounding claims, Chaudhary mumbled something about a Roshni Act but thereafter only he knew what he was talking about but it sounded divisive and dangerous. He presented a chart to explain the alleged plot which was far too complicated to understand.”

— Sudhir Chaudhary (@sudhirchaudhary) March 12, 2020

It is clear that Sudhir Chaudhary has exposed an issue which the liberal brigade had successfully and cautiously buried under the carpet for decades. He has revealed how a State-sponsored attempt was made to alter the demography of the Hindu majority Jammu region of the erstwhile State- Islamisation for political purposes to be categorical and blunt. The liberals have clearly been unable to fathom as to how someone could even speak about this issue and have therefore indulged in a verbal diarrhoea against the Zee News editor-in-chief.
