Jamia violence: They pelted stones, set fire to vehicles, ran into the library to hide; and then the police came
Share on FacebookShare on X

The Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC) has released a video supposedly from December 15, when Anti CAA violence had gripped the Jamia Milia Islamia University campus and several other parts of Delhi. The video shows some police personnel can be seen caning people, whom the left-liberal ecosystem claims to be innocent students who were just studying inside Jamia library.

The JCC and the entire left-liberal gang has now started to bash Delhi Police over this incident, alleging that the police personnel seen in the video are beating up innocent students.

Tunku Varadarajan, Executive Editor at the Hoover Institution, also joined the manufactured outrage and said, “A thuggish, obscurantist, religious-fundamentalist government at war with students, with education, with modernity…” while retweeting the contentious video.

However, the issue is not as simple as it seems on the face of it. According to another video clip, those who are being passed off as “innocent students” can be seen hurrying into the purported library. On seeing the police, these so-called students, including a masked ‘student’ suddenly settle down and pretend to be studying.

And YOU should be ashamed to the core for spreading the fake news. Look what happened before that. All these rioters became 'students' just as they saw the Police!pic.twitter.com/PXjlnLb12a https://t.co/djNx2imv4t

Meanwhile, RJ Sayema who has drawn fire in the past over controversial remarks and for spreading misleading news also retweeted this video. She also tried to shift the blame for burning DTC buses, which were torched by anti CAA rioters in December, upon the Delhi Police. She said, “C’mon now show us who torched the bus!”

They came and said ‘With you, For you, Always’ and left. They showered roses on the students of @jamiamillia_ (as u can see) on the evening of 15th Dec 2019.

— Sayema (@_sayema) February 15, 2020

It must be noted that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia had been caught spreading fake news that the Delhi Police had torched a DTC bus during anti CAA protests in Delhi. Later, it was found out that the video of the bus which he had tweeted was not even the one that was torched. RJ Sameya has attempted to circulate that fake news all over again.

While it is clear that a fresh spin is being given to the entire incident on the basis of this fresh video, which in itself is replete with inconsistencies, there is a need to revisit the events of December 15.

There was widespread anti-CAA violence in the Jamia Nagar locality of Southeast Delhi, where the JMI is located.

Outsiders got involved with the JMI students, who stepped outside the university during the protest. The protesters set three buses and two bikes on fire damaged many vehicles parked on road and pelted stones at Delhi Police, which was deployed to control the mob.

The police started controlling the situation and pushing the rioters back from the affected area. This crowd of students, which had been infested by rioters, entered the University premises.

The idea was that the police cannot enter University campuses. From within the University campus, the police personnel were still being attacked.

In a video of the incident that went viral, in which the Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police could be heard appealing for peace to the Jamia Milia Islamia students and also asking them not to throw stones and other objects at the police personnel standing outside the University gates.

Speaking in a very calm and composed manner, he also went on to assure that the police was there for the protection of the students and that they did not want to carry out any action against the students.

However, the “student-activists” (mixed with rioters) responded by hurling abuses at the police officials, showing the level to which they had stooped.

— ANI (@ANI) December 17, 2019

It was in such circumstances that the police had to enter the Central Varsity campus to bring things under control and to identify and curb the rioters who had tried to insulate themselves by entering the University premises.

The left-liberal cabal had manufactured an uproar arguing how the Delhi Police could have entered the campus. Even those outsiders indulging in violence were now being projected as holy cows who should not have been taken to task.

Now, the same left-liberal outrage lobby wants to pass off the rioters as “innocent students” studying in the library. For that, they have taken the support of this latest video footage.

Meanwhile, another video has surfaced in which a man can be seen torching a bike. In the video released by the Jamia Coordination Committee, a masked man in the extreme right side of that video can be seen hiding his face with a handkerchief. There is a stark resemblance between the man seen in the two videos.

https://twitter.com/allindiamemers/status/1228911777636741120

Therefore, while the left-liberal cabal is playing up this video in order to vilify the Delhi Police. The circumstances which led to the police personnel entering the campus, the demeanour of the make-believe students in what they are claiming to be a library and the masked “student” seen in two different videos, bring their version under a lot of doubt.
