Tears for arsonists, nothing for cops? Being a policeman is the most difficult and the most thankless job in India

Tears for arsonists, nothing for cops? Being a policeman is the most difficult and the most thankless job in India

The protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act have reached a tipping point as the protestors have often turned violent and created a ruckus by damaging public property and pelting stones at the Police. Amidst the protests and the counter-protests unfortunately, it’s the police who have turned out to be the favourite punching bags for the liberals as they seek to protect and justify the violence meted out by the mob in the name of standing against a ‘fascist’ government.

The Jamia protests had resulted in the Delhi police being painted as the monsters who attacked ‘innocent students’. The liberals hurled various accusations at the police and the media showed a distorted picture. Soon reports trickled in as forensics proved that the police hadn’t fired any bullets and the so-called students at Jamia were caught on camera breaking public property while shouting anti-India slogans. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and the favourite of the leftist radicals, Aatishi Marlena were caught spreading fake news as they wrongly showed a policeman trying to light a bus through kerosene. As it turns out, the policeman was trying to douse the fire. There were accusations of an ABVP member among the police, which was again proved wrong. Thanks to the massive misinformation campaign, many unsuspecting and gullible citizens were seen supporting the Jihadis masquerading as students Ladeeda and Aysha against the Delhi police. Ladeeda and Aysha’s radical Islamist mindset has been completely exposed as their nefarious agenda been uncovered. The violence in Delhi compelled the police to take stern actions. What was the police supposed to do when the ‘students’ attacked them with stones? Were they supposed to stand as mere bystanders as the public property was plundered as if it was free for all? It also turns out that there were approximately 700 fake ids were seized by the Jamia administration making it amply clear that the protests were manufactured.

The Delhi police saw its personnel sustain grave injuries as it tried to contain the violence but it didn’t manage to find support from the media as they were too busy covering a girl faking drama and tears over the ‘death’ of her friends. Such fake news that some Jamia students had died due to police brutality only instigated the mob against the Delhi police who were trying to do their job.

The Seelampur violence unmasked the true face of the protestors as they shed their masks and openly attacked the police which saw the additional DCP sustain multiple injuries.

The violent mob had assembled in large numbers in an attempt to overpower the police who had only cricket helmets to protect themselves. “I wasn’t expecting that the protest would turn violent in a moment and hundreds of men would turn hostile. They hit us with bricks and stones. We tried to stop them, but they didn’t listen to us,” said Dara Singh, a constable posted with Seelampur police station, who was injured in the Seelampur violence. Singh further added, “I was standing with five to eight other policemen when more than 20 men surrounded us and pelted stones and bricks. Although I was wearing a helmet, a stone hit my left eye and I fell to the ground. I could hear my colleagues trying to pacify the angry crowd, but they were still pelting stones at us. Soon, officers came to my help and took me to the hospital.”

In Lucknow, the violent mob burned an entire police post. A total of 20 motorcycles, 10 cars, 3 buses and 4 media OB vans were torched by the violent mobs in the area surrounding Parvati Chowk in Lucknow.

Ahmedabad in Gujarat also witnessed even more disturbing scenes. One of the videos that have gone viral on social media shows a violent, bigoted mob pelting stones at police vehicles and personnel. What is particularly disturbing is the visual of police personnel being cornered by a blood-thirsty mob which then tries to lynch him. A total of 12 policemen have been injured by the murderous mobs in Ahmedabad. Another video from Shah-e-Alam area in Ahmedabad captures how violent mobs cornered some police personnel into one particular corner and then started pelting stones at them indiscriminately.

The modus operandi in Delhi’s Seelampur, Ahmedabad and Lucknow are remarkably identical. Violent, bigoted mobs turn violent owing to the systematic misinformation campaign that has been launched by vested interests against the CAA. These violent mobs then outnumber the police personnel in a pre-planned manner and try to overpower them. Dozens of police personnel have been injured in these accidents. A bomb is said to have exploded in a protester’s hand at Delhi’s Seelampur which he intended to throw at police personnel. Moreover, in Lucknow, a protester died of what looks like a freak, bullet injury. The bullet was not fired by the police and therefore it must have been fired by someone among the violent mobs.

In Ahmedabad, a murderous, violent mob tried to lynch police personnel.

Horrible video from Ahemdabad in Gujarat. This is how the protesters went after the Police. Hope and pray no cop was lynched. Who says there is a ban on peaceful protests across India? Protests do not mean you start violently attacking cops and damaging public property. Just sad. pic.twitter.com/hsqjuw3WEd

— Aditya Raj Kaul (@AdityaRajKaul) December 19, 2019

Radical Leftists have found a safe hunting ground with so-called news portals like TheWire.in as its journalist, Arfa Khanum Sherwani managed to set new standards in shoddy and irresponsible reporting with her utterly provocative remarks after the Jamia violence incident in Delhi. A video has gone viral on Twitter in which she can be heard spewing venom and provoking radical elements by claiming that Delhi Police had sexually molested women in the toilets of the Jamia Milia Islamia University. In this video, which was shared by senior journalist Aditya Raj Kaul, she can be heard claiming that the female students had locked up themselves in the University toilets when the police personnel barged in and sexually assaulted them. She also claimed that the lights were turned off by the police after which they molested the girl students. It is shameful that she admittedly said this without any official confirmation and only based on hearsay. She claimed to have heard this from teachers and students, however, she didn’t produce anyone who could confirm her version. What Arfa Khanum Sherwani has done in the garb of journalism and reporting, is to indulge in sheer rumouring and bigotry. She admits in the video that she said that within 24 hours of the Jamia violence. This shows the level of irresponsible and bigoted reporting that went into this video.

The videos which have emerged from Ahmedabad can boil the blood of every Indian as the violent mob relentlessly attempts to lynch the policemen who are trying to protect themselves from the mob as they have been cornered into a place with no way out. In Banaskantha, a violent Muslim mob led by Jignesh Mevani attacked a police van and managed to completely shake it. It’s a miracle that the policemen inside the van managed to escape the violent mob. It is safe to say that without the police, the radical leftists and the Islamists would have turned the entire country into a war zone.

The police are also the favourite punching bag of the politicians who use them to play vendetta politics.

Akhilesh Yadav upon assuming the office of UP Chief Minister removed all officials posted by his predecessor Mayawati. Yadav reshuffled 112 officers, including four directors general of police (DGPs) and 65 of the state’s 75 superintendents of police (SPs). The large scale transfers also include eight additional directors general (ADG), 16 inspectors general (IG) and 19 deputy inspectors general. This means that 65 of the 75 districts in the state had new police chiefs due to the change of regime. The case of Durga Shakti Nagpal also highlights how the policemen are vilified and attacked when they attempt to expose those in the corridors of power. The lawlessness in UP peaked when in 2013, Akhilesh’s Minister Raja Bhaiyya aka Raghu Pratap Singh murdered the Deputy Superintendent of Police.

While the country gears up to celebrate Christmas, the Police are performing their duty to keep the country safe 24/7. They also have families to go home to but unfortunately, like normal jobs, they don’t have fixed working hours nor do they have the luxury of celebrating festivals. In fact, their work increases during the festival season as they seek to ensure that every citizen gets to enjoy the festival which thus robs the policemen the opportunity to spend some quality time with their family.

— The Frustrated Indian (@FrustIndian) December 17, 2019

In spite of their sacrifice, it is the police who have been pelted stones with, it is the police who have been depicted as the harbingers of violence, it is the police who have been blamed for everything wrong in the country.

It seems that India has tears only for arsonists and have reserved their choicest of hatred for the cops. Being a policeman is the most difficult and the most thankless job in India.

We at The Frustrated Indian salute our brave men in Khaki. Thanks for keeping us safe from this horde of marauders.
