In what comes as a bold measure to quell the anarchism spread in the name of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, PM Narendra Modi has decided to take the matter into his own hands. He will soon address a large gathering at Ramlila Maidan on 22nd December.
As per news reports, PM Modi shall address the gathering at Ramlila Maidan after having inaugurated the regularized colonies on 22nd of December. While his primary agenda is to inform the public about the various schemes of the government, there is no doubt about the fact that many people want PM Modi to clarify his stance on the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
For those unaware, the Citizenship Amendment Act provides for citizenship to minorities that were persecuted in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh on a religious basis, be it Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, or even Parsis. However, the opposition, unable to defeat BJP electorally on this issue, started spreading rumors that the Muslim community would be stripped of their citizenship, apart from states like Assam being robbed of their indigenous pride, following which violent protests rocked Assam, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana, Bihar, West Bengal, Delhi NCR etc.
To begin with, apart from Home Minister Amit Shah, PM Modi saw that the rumor mongers have little to no advantage. PM Modi had explicitly mentioned it in one of his tweets that the Central Government will not meddle with the indigenous culture of the North East . However, despite the best of efforts from both PM Modi and Amit Shah, the protests have not abated as of yet and to make matters worse, the elite cabal of Bollywood, who has no idea of even the difference between CAB and CAA, has led a sinister campaign as they’re deliberately misleading millions of innocent people about the Act, supporting even the violent protests against the same.
As such, PM Modi has taken a major risk by addressing the gathering at Ramlila Maidan, despite threats of a terror attack looming large.
According to sources close to Indian intelligence agencies, a message from across the border has been intercepted, according to which the terror outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad has plotted to assassinate some of the important BJP leaders that would attend the Ramlila Maidan rally, including PM Narendra Modi himself. The intelligence agencies have requested the SPG and the Delhi Police to follow the Blue Book of security, which gives details about the arrangement of the security for the Prime Minister for various events.
However, if there is someone who can quell the violence against the CAA, it is PM Modi and none else. He is extremely popular amongst the masses, who get affected if he receives even a scratch. Only a couple of days ago, PM Modi missed a step at Atal Ghat in Kanpur, and he stumbled upon the steps. From Twitter to Facebook, people poured hearts out showing their affection, love and connect to the PM Modi, it has once again shown that the people have great regard for PM Modi considering him a father figure.
The warmth and caring showed by the people could be clearly witnessed with a twitter user saying, “India dances on a different tune. Before rationale or logic come our emotions, or love… This thread is a beautiful sign of that. Thanks guys Modi ji has inspired India to experience these emotions and taught us that we can rise with them. I love my India.”
Given the massive popularity that PM Modi commands, he has the power of bringing change, and what better example to describe than the highly successful Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. Leading by his own example, PM Modi exhorted the nation to join the campaign to clean India and assist in the construction of toilets, which turned into a worldwide success. To quote a UNICEF study, “Soil and groundwater pollution in many regions of rural India has reduced to a significant extent thanks to the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. According to the study conducted in West Bengal, there are many villages which are now open defecation free and due to which the groundwater pollution has reduced to a large extent.
Apart from that, the influence that PM Modi commands over the crowds is almost close to unbeatable, and that has been proved more than once in various instances. As such, the Ramlila Maidan rally is nothing less than another golden opportunity for PM Narendra Modi to show why he is the ultimate boss when it comes to statesmanship and good governance.
