Mastodon Social: A social media platform so biased that right wingers get banned immediately after creating an account

Facebook for kids, Twitter for adults and Mastodon for legends of bigotry. Even Assam Police was not spared.

2019 has proved to be an excruciatingly painful year for the India’s left-liberals. Narendra Modi swept to power with an even bigger majority and their subsequent tears were still not dry when the Central Government abrogated Article 370 sending the community into a state of shock. As if to rub salt into the wounds, the Ayodhya verdict was delivered in favour of the Ram Mandir snatching the community’s right to troll the right-wing over the failure to construct Ram Mandir.

The Narendra Modi government has completed every core promise and the leftists simply can’t gulp down the fact that India is increasingly rejecting their ideology. The ‘community’ has now made Twitter its latest target as the community is seen shifting away to a new form of social media networking site called ‘Mastodon’.

Further, Leftists were outraged when Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Hegde’s account was suspended by Twitter and in protest they moved en masse to Mastodon Social to build their own homogeneous like-minded community where ironically any dissenters or ‘right wing bigots’ are suspended within minutes of irking a leftist. However, the moderators of the ‘instance’ crossed the line when an Assam Police account posted a Children’s Day ‘toot’.

The social media platform came under heavy fire as astonishingly Assam Police’s account was removed from the server over a Children’s Day post and the justification given by the moderator over the account’s removal is a testament to the humongous amount of paranoia that has crept inside their minds. The moderator explained that: “We decided that we will not welcome cops on this instance”and “Following multiple reports, we decided that it’s more important that our community feels safe and in security, then to be a platform for official communication.” Yes, the leftists indeed removed the account of Assam police to feel ‘safe and in security.’

Ridiculously, the ‘community’ feels ‘safe and in security’ when the police is not around. One can only imagine what the intentions of such a ‘community’ are and what kind of people can take advantage of it. Assam Police social media outreach has been commendable and it is least warranted that they are removed from a platform for doing their duty.

Mastodon is a decentralised social networking service, which allows users to create their private networks. It’s akin to having your own platform. While the platform’s decentralised outlook is a welcome change but the leftists have gamed the platform to further their nefarious agenda and divide the country. On Mastodon, one can create private networks with a moderator that can suspend accounts that ‘violate their rules’. On Mastodon social, where India leftists hive, the moderator removes anyone who dares to show dissent against their radical ideologies.

The Indian leftists had a major meltdown post the Ayodhya verdict and even posting a simple “Jai Shri Ram” on Mastodon will get you banned from the platform. Even as little as calling them out for ‘running away from right wingers on Twitter’ can attract a suspension. The leftists have shifted en masse to Mastodon as they feel they can strategise in private.

People like Vishal Dadlani, Shivam Vij, Kavita Krishnan and Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien have joined this ‘instance’. “Morning, all. Glad to find some of you have come over from my other pages. Hopefully, more will show up. Thrilled to report, I can’t hear the usual incessant social-media drone of words being sharpened in the distance.@Mastodon, you were needed,” Dadlani wrote in one of his toots (Mastodon’s name for tweets) on the platform while separatist Krishnan claimed: “You don’t get the point. The point is, we’re FINE with trolls migrating to Mastodon. I hope everyone migrates there and leaves Twitter high and dry. But #Mastodon moderators are not Sanghis who will ban us while allowing hate speech handles to flourish.”

In 2017, Shivam Vij had openly called for the leftists to change the conversation and set the agenda on a Facebook post and through Mastodon, the leftists seek to set the agenda, in private. Vij openly called for the leftists to focus on caste to counter the Hindutva ideology and prevent India from turning into Pakistan. The presence of such radical Marxists presents a grave threat at a time when security agencies throughout the world are keeping an eye on social media platforms to curb terrorism with TikTok recently in the news as it removed ISIS sympathetic material from its platform. However, in the absence of a centralised authority, the leftists will rule the roost to radicalise their colleagues which doesn’t bode well for India.

The meltdown of the leftists post the Ayodhya verdict on Mastodon is a glimpse of the threat that the platform poses. The leftists claimed that ‘Jai Shri Ram’ is a war cry and tried to instigate unsuspecting minds against the ‘biased’ Supreme Court verdict.

I see the meltdown is in full flow on Mastodon, best & brightest of Indian left wing! pic.twitter.com/bhlvMiomQU

— Fives🚩 (@Kishkinda2) November 9, 2019

There were open calls for the Muslim community to not accept the verdict which is a dangerous sign but the Indian Muslims rejected the attempts of the leftists to instigate them. Such views are not censored but all those who don’t subscribe to their ideology are declared as ‘Sanghi bigots’ on Mastodon Social, and suspended.

It is impossible for a right-winger to last on the social media platform for too long and even as little as accusing of the communists of running away from Twitter will mean your account getting suspended. ‘Cops are not welcome’ here. While the Indian leftists never fail to provide comic relief but the increasingly cornered leftists whose ideology has been rejected across India are now planning and plotting on a platform with no one watching over the platform with divisive campaigns can be strategised on these platforms.

It’s possible get banned from one instance of mastodon, but you can always join some other instance. Beside all that, you can even create your own instantce of Mastodon and make your own rules on it. I don’t understand why Indian non-left wing is always complaining, that left wing is blocking them from “their” platforms. mastodon.social is a left leaning instance, what a big deal? Create your own platform to spread your word. I think mastodon is a great platform for that (not mastodon.social instance specifically but mastodon as a technology). Create your own mastodon instance and we will join it. TFI can also take initiative. Even with a small team all it require is a dedicated server and 30 minutes to an hour of someones setting up that server. And if your instace catch on you can collaborate with other non left handles to expand your server
