Congress has a very close relation with hypocrisy. Another example of this was proven today when the honourable bench of the Supreme Court pronounced its decision in favour of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas in the Ram Janmabhoomi case. The court considered that Sri Ram was born at the disputed site, and they also pronounced for the decision to build a mosque at an alternate location in Ayodhya for the Muslim side. This decision was openly welcomed by almost all the parties across the country. In this context, the Congress also supported the decision, saying, “The Indian National Congress respects the decision of the Supreme Court in the Ayodhya case. The party requests all concerned parties and all communities to maintain an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, and uphold the established ideals of “Sarva Dharma Sambhav” and high values of brotherhood. “
Not only this, but the Central Working Committee of the Congress also said that it is the responsibility of every Indian to keep alive the culture and tradition of mutual respect and the centuries-old notion of unity in diversity in the country.
However, these statements do not really suit the Congress at all. In the Ram Janmabhoomi case, it was the Congress who not only put roadblocks in quick disposal of the case but also questioned the very existence of Shri Ram.
How can we forget that it is the same Congress that filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court to break Shri Ram Setu, saying that Ram was a mere figment of imagination?
In 2005, the UPA government under the leadership of the then Congress had ruled out the existence of Ram. Not only this, the old party had started preparing to start work on building a dam on the site of the original Ram Sethu.
At that time, the BJP strongly opposed this decision. In 2006, the UPA government, in its affidavit as filed in the Supreme Court, said that there is no historical evidence about Ram and there is no firm evidence that the ‘Ram-Setu’ was constructed by mythological characters.
But the Sanatan community strongly affirms that Ram Setu was built by Lord Rama through an army of monkeys. The BJP has always opposed the Sethusamudram project. It was only due to senior BJP leader and advocate Subramanian Swamy, who prevented Ram Setu from being destroyed by the sinister duo of Congress-DMK.
Mocking the sentiments of millions of Hindus, there was a plan to remove the Shri Ram Setu, in order to pave way for the Setu Samudram Project (SSCP) in 2005. However, Subramanian Swamy then filed a petition in the court against the project, after which he won the case by nullifying the scheme of the then government. In this whole process, he had prevented the dirty conspiracy of the Congress from being successful and also prevented a major judicial battle.
But the humiliation of Sanatan Dharma did not stop here. The DMK party, which was the partner in the UPA government, spared no effort to humiliate Shri Ram publicly. Be it questioning the character of Shri Ram, or insulting the artists of Ram Leela in Tamil Nadu by labelling Shri Ram as evil, DMK was determined to erase Shri Ram’s name from history. It was a different matter altogether that the people of Tamil Nadu had ousted them from power in 2011.
Even Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi made a statement that those who go to the temple molest women. If this isn’t the epitome of hypocrisy, what else is this?
To be fair, Congress is the last party in the world that has the right to speak anything on the Ram temple issue. Even after Independence, this party obstructed this decision for years for their own selfish interests. Congress knows very well that the temple is not only of religious significance but is also an important subject for the self-respect of the people of the country. However, it is very unlikely that the people would fall for Congress’ tactics this time.
