In recent developments coming from Jammu and Kashmir, a Jammu court on Tuesday ordered to file an FIR against members of J&K Crime Branch’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), which probed the rape and murder in Kathua of an eight-year-old girl last year.
These developments come in the light of complaints made by certain Sachin Sharma, Neeraj Sharma and Sahil Sharma, all residents of Kathua and Samba districts, alleging torture and coercion to “provide false evidence” against one of the accused, Vishal Jangotra, who was later acquitted in the case.

Judicial magistrate Prem Sagar issued an order that read, “From the gist of the complaint, cognizable offences are made out against the non-applicants (six crime branch officials) herein. Therefore, application under Section 156(3) CrPc is allowed with direction to SSP Jammu to register FIR against non-applicants under relevant provisions of law and report compliance by November 7, the next date of hearing”.
These developments also come as another reminder of the functioning of the left-liberal cabal in India, which like a number of times had also used this heinous criminal incident to churn political divide and targets Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir. With massive misinformation campaigns being run on social media by several journalists and Bollywood personalities this case too was just used as a political tool by some while justice for the victim and agenda to nab the culprits took a back seat. Disregarding the loopholes in the case, a disgusting media trial churned out appalling levels of hate against Hindus.
However this anti-Hindu effort was nothing more than a self-promoting stunt for many, Shehla Rashid, one of the front-runners running the anti-Hindu agenda was also later accused of duping the victims family of all the financial help received. In an article for Scroll, Samar Halarnkar wrote: “The plotters represent many millions of such Hindus who have reached the conclusion that India must eventually become an apartheid state, a Hindu Rashtra where the Hindu has first claim to everything.” In other words, these journalists lost no time in equating ‘the plotters of Kathua’ with ‘millions of Hindus’!
Further, tools for orchestrating their propaganda, Lawyer Deepika Rajawat and activist Talib Hussain left no stone unturned to make this case about Hindus against Muslims. Rajawat went on to get fired as the victim’s family’s lawyer, and Talib Hussain was accused of domestic violence and also arrested on rape charges.
In the meantime, raucous anchors were busy convincing their viewers that the people of Jammu were some sort of villains who not only ‘supported the rapists’ but actually organised a bandh to show that ‘support’. Panelists from Jammu were invited for the endless TV Debates on the issue, but not allowed to utter a word. Every anchor, including Arnab and Rahul Shivshankar, came down like a tonne of bricks on the Dogras who kept trying to say that the reasons for the Jammu Bandh had been entirely different from those furnished by the media.
Certain journalists insisted on making this a ‘Hindutva’ issue one Rajdeep Sardesai had tweeted: “First you rape and kill a eight-year-old girl; then you seek to protect the killers with the tricolour and Jai Shri Ram slogans”.
First you rape and kill a eight year old girl; then you seek to protect the killers with the tricolour and Jai Shri ram slogans; then you engage in communal whataboutery. Our conscience is dead. I hang my head in shame. We all should. Not a shubhratri.

Several Bollywood personalities were also seen brandishing anti-Hindu placards in garb of protesting the heinous crime. Despite the shoddiness of the investigation, the call for a CBI inquiry from the people of Kathua, several Bollywood celebrities jumped the bandwagon to defame Hindus and turn it into a political hate-campaign against the Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir.
Their hypocrisy has time and again been exposed but this time, given the established malafide intentions of the SIT, these Bollywood celebrities like Swara Bhaskar, Kareena Kappor and Sonam Kapoor should be apologetic of their irresponsible conduct.
Bollywood’s placard Brigade wasted no time in targeting Hinduism and Hindus after the #KathuaCase.
Just to please a lobby they supported a propaganda that was only anti-Hindu. Will these placard warriors apologize now? They should.

The three witnesses, all classmates of Sanji Ram’s son, Vishal Jangotra, in the Kathua rape case had also earlier filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court. The writ petition filed had alleged torture committed by the Jammu & Kashmir Police officials while recording statements from the three witnesses. The writ petition was brought before then Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra by Advocates Ravi Sharma and Laksh Khanna. According to the petitioners, the Jammu & Kashmir police officials had subjected them to physical & mental torture for a 12 day period between March 19, 2018 and March 31, 2018. The physical and mental torture was committed on them and they were “coerced to make statements contrary to the facts that Vishal Jangotra was with them at Miranpur, Muzzafar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh from January 7, 2018 to February 10, 2018.”
The charge-sheet filed by the SIT had mentioned that Vishal Jangotra, son of main accused Sanji Ram and a co-accused in the case, was not in Meerut on 12th January as his parents had stated. The charge-sheet alleged that Vishal was not at the examination centre in Meerut on 12th January, based on the CCTV footage that the SIT claims to possess. However, Vishal’s parents have repeatedly insisted that their son was in Meerut and not in Kathua and have cited his attendance sheet as the evidence backing their claims. Vishal’s family had also staged an indefinite fast in Kathua for a fair probe into the matter. Vishal’s family had also accused the Kathua police of using torture to force confessions out of the accused.
The anti-Hindu agenda was at such peak at the time, that demands even for investigations by the CBI by the people of Jammu was being looked at so suspiciously. Nonetheless, with this recent court order exposing the botched up SIT investigation, Vishal Jangotra and Hindus of Jammu and Kashmir are certainly owed an apology by the crass left-liberal gang and the Jihadi elements in Kashmir valley which had used this heinous crime to demonise a whole community.
