Even though the government of Yogi Adityanath is constantly trying to improve the law and order in UP, some cases are still coming up, which pose as a major challenge to both the society and the administration.
One such case has come from Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, where a student named Anushka Pandey was found dead in mysterious circumstances in the hostel of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. The police and the district administration consider it as a case of suicide and want to close the case as soon as possible, but if the social media buzz around it is considered, the matter seems to be something else.
According to the Postmortem reports as accessed, Anushka Pandey was first sexually assaulted and then murdered, following which her corpse was hung from the ceiling fan.
Some tweets backing the theory have surfaced on social media, shared primarily by Garuda Publication, Co-Founder and right-wing ideologue Ankur Pathak via a long, descriptive Twitter thread –
Through these tweets, it gets known that Anushka Pandey was a promising student who wanted to become a doctor in future and serve people. The victim’s parents have warned that if there is not a fair CBI inquiry into the case, they will go on a hunger strike.
Seeking justice in Anushka’s case, Ankur Pathak said:
“Through the post mortem investigations, the doctors believe that the girl was raped, then murdered and hung or probably hanged to death. Anushka was the school topper scoring 93% marks in class X. Having wanted to become a doctor, the district administration is now busy in suppressing the case.
There should be a fair CBI inquiry into the entire matter. No poor mother will be able to send her daughter to a hostel as of now. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by the Central Government, which is headed by an ex-officio chairman. Therefore, the investigation conducted by the District Magistrate does not seem to be impartial. Now when rapes start happening in the temple of education itself, where will the daughters go?”
Ankur Pathak has also presented some crucial evidence along with the long Twitter thread, which proves that Anushka Pandey did not commit suicide, but the district administration is hell-bent on closing the case by proving it to be a suicide as if they wish to protect an important person who might be the actual culprit. If the government does not take quick action on this matter, many people may lose their faith in the judicial system.
The case looks eerily similar to the case which occurred in Kanpur in 2007, where a girl, ‘Divya’ while being treated at the hospital, principally due to deteriorating health, was raped, following which she died.
Since the name of the school manager where ‘Divya’ studied had also appeared among the accused, the district administration at first had arrested an inferior employee of the school and put him in jail to suppress the case. This couldn’t last long but.
The matter spread like wildfire, and it reached the Chief Minister, the administration finally got into action and the school manager and his son were detained.
Meanwhile, the #JusticeforAnushkaPandey Twitter campaign is being run on social media due to the efforts of Ankur Pathak, which raises the voice for a fair CBI enquiry into Anushka’s death. We hope that the government takes immediate cognizance of the matter and immediately permits CBI to investigate the matter present the culprits before the court.
