Ever since India abrogated Article 370 that granted special status to the state of Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistani leadership has appeared perturbed and desperate about the Indo-Pak relations. Several of their ministers have made over the top reactions with the Pakistan PM himself making diplomatically disastrous statements. Imran Khan had gone on to suggest that more Pulwama like terror attacks would take place after Modi government’s move on Article 370. This was seen as a highly provocative statement coming directly from the Pakistan PM.
However, it is not only the Pakistan PM who has made such remarks. Top Pakistani leadership, whether military or political, has been making inappropriate, provocative remarks. Pakistan’s Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, for example, indicated that the Pakistan is considering shutting its airspace to New Delhi. Chaudhary tweeted, “PM is considering a complete closure of air space to India, a complete ban on the use of Pakistan land routes for Indian trade to Afghanistan was also suggested in the cabinet meeting… legal formalities for these decisions are under consideration… Modi has started, we’ll finish!” Pakistan has not been able to internationalise the Kashmir issue depsite its desperate attempts and in order to satisfy the anti-India sentiment brewing within Pakistan, its leadership keeps on making such remarks of a bellicose nature.
Now, in a press briefing, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Raveesh Kumar has absolutely ripped apart the Pakistani leadership for making such obnoxious statements. Condemning such statements as “highly irresponsible”, India has made it clear that the provocative statements include “call for jihad and inciting violence in India.” The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that Pakistan has been using terrorism as state policy against India and that it must stop exporting terror. In what is being seen as a comment in reference to Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s controversial remarks, Kumar said, “We strongly condemn highly irresponsible statements by Pakistani leadership on matters internal to India.” He also said, “These statements include references to Jihad and to incite violence in India, this is intended to project an alarmist situation which is far from ground reality. Pakistan needs to understand that the world has seen through their provocative rhetoric based on lies and deceit.”
Raveesh Kumar also made an incisive remark against the letter by Pakistan Minister Shireen Mazari to the United Nations who alleged “human rights violations in Kashmir”. On being asked about the same, he made it clear that the letter is “not even worth the paper on which it was written” and that it should not be given any preference by reacting to it. The spokesperson said, “Do not want to lend any credence to the letter written by Pakistan to UNHRC.”

By explaining India’s stand in an eloquent manner, Kumar has made it clear that India is not going to sit back in face of such diplomatically uncouth behaviour of Pakistan. Pakistan has already lost a lot of diplomatic capital in the recent past over it’s unduly aggressive behaviour towards India. And with its top political leadership acting in a diplomatically abnormal and unsophisticated manner, the terrorist country has only made matters worse for itself.
