Yogendra Yadav, National President of Swaraj Abhiyan met a strong response from DD journalist Ashok Shrivastav over his comments on Doordarshan. Yogendra Yadav in a debate on the Times Now network had made disrespectful comments on the national news broadcaster, Doordarshan. Yogendra in his remarks had questioned the viewership of the channel in a denigrating way. Yadav had essentially said ‘who watches Doordarshan?’. Ashok Shrivastav taking note of Yadav’s comments gave him a strong response on the micro blogging site, Twitter.

Ashok Shrivastav said ‘Farmers and poor, under the garb of whom you (Yogendra Yadav) practice politics are the same people who watch Doordarshan.’

@DDNewsLive

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

He further said ‘Yogendra Yadav ji, who watches Doordarshan and who doesn’t, viewers of Doordarshan will tell you in a short time, however today you have proved that you are treacherous man’.

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

He also added’ Arvind Kejriwal had warned me that you are a person who stabs people in the back, but I did not believe him. However now I am convinced, after all what you are today is because of Doordarshan network’‘Yogendra Yadav ji, Remember the election of 1996? Then you were nothing .This Doordarshan only provided you the opportunity to do nations first exit poll with Nalini Singh’

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

‘I still remember that in 1996 you used to rush to Nalini Ji’s office very much at 10 o’clock in the night, so that you could get work. Doordarshan gave opportunity to a unknown young man who was unemployed, like you! Yogendra Yadav. Yes, whatever you are today is because of Doordarshan’.

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

“How many Yogendra Yadav and Vinod Dua has DD made? Today they say that Doordarshan has no status! This statement shows the values of people like you. Yogendra ji, Doordarshan is and Doordarshan will be there. People like you will come, go, play a few days and get over.’

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

‘Doordarshan is the channel of India’s common folk; it is the heartbeat of the nation. A common Indian loves Doordarshan, but urban naxals like Yogendra Yadav do not understand because they don’t know, they don’t understand the real India and I will prove that.’

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

Taking a dig at Yogendra Yadav’s psephological predictions, Ashok Shrivastav said. ‘Yogendra Yadav claimed that AAP will have a good performance in Haryana in 2014. However the Aam Aadmi Party was swept clean from the state. Yogendra Yadav who fought from Gurugram himself came fourth in the assembly elections and lost by 5 lakh votes.’

#FakePsephologistYogendraYadav

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

‘Yogendra Yadav claimed on March 11, 2017 that no party would get a majority in the Uttar Pradesh assembly. BJP will be a big loser however BJP broke the record with 325 seats.’

#FakePsephologistYogendraYadav

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

‘Yogendra Yadav claimed on 13 December 2017 that the Gujarat BJP would be reduced to 65 seats in the assembly elections. Yogendra Yadav said that BJP’s defeat could be even bigger than this. What happened? BJP won 99 seats and its government was formed in Gujarat.’

#FakePsephologistYogendraYadav

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

‘So, the fact is, Yogendra Yadav ji you don’t understand India or the people of India. You are an Urban Naxal, therefore, hating the channel of our country’

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) April 3, 2019

Yadav was in the spotlight when he was ousted from the Aam Aadmi party over his differences with party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Yadav has also been active in farmers protests under the banner of controversial All-India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) which mainly consist of communist groups and have allegedly been involved in staging photos of the protest. The channel Yadav denigrates has been the lifeline of the nation and has been successful in reaching even the remotest corners.
