In a bizarre claim, Nationalist Congress Party chief and veteran politician Sharad Pawar claimed that the air strikes committed by IAF on the terrorist camps and control camps situated at Chakoti, Muzaffarabad and Balakot etc was his idea.
To quote his recent statement to the press, “In the aftermath of the dastardly attack in Pulwama, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel, a top-level meeting was held in which I was asked about my response if I were the Defence Minister. I advised about striking the terror hideouts responsible for the attacks. Note that PM Modi and Defence Minister N Sitharaman were not present in the meeting. PM Modi was in Maharashtra during the meeting.”
This was not all. Pawar even bragged that IAF acted on his consultation alone. To quote him further, “My suggestion was heeded by the Air Force without due deliberation from the Prime Minister or Defence Minister and Balakot terror camps were destroyed based on my advise.”
It looks like Sharad Pawar’s memory has failed him. It was PM Modi himself who gave the armed forces complete freedom to give a fitting retribution to the Pakistan sponsored terrorists for executing the Pulwama attacks. Interestingly, Sharad Pawar was one of the politicians who mocked the valor of the armed forces when he demanded proof for the airstrikes. What is the reason for such a drastic change? Is this an election gimmick like your concocted blasts, Mr. Pawar?
Interestingly, Sharad Pawar is the same guy who had concocted an entire bomb blast during the notorious Black Friday blasts, which allegedly occurred at Masjid Bunder in order to uphold the secular ethos of India. According to a report in DNA, when Pawar himself exposed his own lie at Marathi literary meet in 2005, he added that Justice Srikrishna Commission for his crafty lies. Therefore, it comes as no surprise, if he brags about his role in the airstrikes committed by IAF pilots.
Moreover, Sharad Pawar is not the only one playing dirty politics on the airstrikes. Several Congress politicians have bragged about being silent on dozens of such strikes happening during UPA rule, even when IAF officers denied their claims outright. We only wonder as to how long will we have to endure their lies further.
