Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has made a shocking remark in connection about the Pulwama terror attack. He shamelessly indulged in a political blame game over the Pulwama terror attack instead of condemning Pakistan for the dastardly attack and showing solidarity with the government and the country’s armed forces. Kumaraswamy refused to condemn Pakistan for the Pulwama attack. While the nation is calling for avenging the attack on the CRPF convoy, the Karnataka chief minister has said that giving a ‘befitting reply’ to the perpetrators wouldn’t bring back the lost lives. He also went on to say that the correct approach would be to create a conducive atmosphere in the valley.
Kumaraswamy did not stop at politicising the dastardly terror attack in Pulwama. He went on to add, “It is not a matter of attack or counter attack. The unabated terror activities in that region (Jammu and Kashmir) has only claimed the lives of innocent people. You cannot bring those lives back by giving a ‘befitting reply’. A solution is to create a conducive atmosphere in the region and it is the Centre’s responsibility (to do it). This is my opinion (sic).” It does not take much knowledge about the Kashmir issue to infer that the only way to combat terror in the state is take on Pakistan which exports terrorism into the valley.
When it comes to creating a conducive atmosphere in Kashmir, the only means of doing so is to give Pakistan a befitting reply and nip the Pakistani terror factories in the bud. However, people like Kumaraswamy seem to be living in a world of their own. Kumaraswamy made another shocking remark when he was asked whether Pakistan should be declared a terror state, Kumaraswamy gave am rather tepid reply and said that primarily the government has to ensure that such a situation does not arise in the future. He also said, “We have to first solve crisis emanating out of terrorism in our country.”
Those who believe in respecting terrorists’ human rights and holding peace talks with Pakistan have not stopped peddling their obnoxious narrative even after the Pulwama terror attacks. After the dastardly terror attack carried out by JeM, a Pakistan based terror outfit, the nation stands united to take on the terror state of Pakistan. Even countries across the world have taken a stand against Pakistan. But it seems that Pakistan’s loyalists within India continue to stand by our terrorist neighbour.
