Congress has hit a new low by politicising the Pulwama terror attack and spreading fake news about the prime minister’s visit to Jim Corbett National Park. The terror attack has shaken the conscience of the entire nation and it is downright disgusting how Congress has politicised the terror attack within a week of the attack. The Congress has claimed that PM Modi was participating in a film shoot at the Corbett after the Pulwama terror attack.
Congress chief spokesperson, Randeep Surjewala said, “What is unpardonable is that when the entire nation was stunned by the Pulwama terror attack last Thursday, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was busy picnicking in Jim Corbett National Park, Ramnagar, Naitnital and was participating in a photo shoot of Discovery Channel.” He added, “He was staring at gharials [crocodiles] up to 6:30 p.m. Is there any PM in the world like this?” Not only this, Surjewala also released a photograph showing PM Modi at the Jim Corbett National Park.
The Congress spokesperson did not stop here, he went on to claim, “He [Mr. Modi] had tea and snacks in the Circuit House till 6:45 p.m. Not only this, PM Modi was enjoying a boat ride from Kalagarh dam to Dhikala along with Discovery Channel head and the camera crew who were filming Shri Narendra Modi.”
Surjewala also asserted that while the country was busy picking up the remains of our soldiers, Prime Minister Modi was busy with his publicity and propaganda. The Congress stooped further and insinuated the Modi government of not declaring national mourning so that PM Modi did not have to cancel his public events. This is as low as a political outfit can stoop. The fact remains that the bravehearts who laid down their lives in the Pulwama terror attack were working towards the nation’s development and progress. They lived and died for the nation and the Congress is now trying to use them for earning political brownie points. India is not going to get derailed by dastardly acts of terrorism. We are going to continue on the path of development, no matter what. This is exactly what the government did. However, the Congress seems to be having a problem with that.
As far as the claim of PM Modi having a good time at the Jim Corbett National Park shortly after the terror attack is concerned, it seems that the claim is devoid of truth and based entirely on conjectures and surmises. As per government sources, PM Modi was informed about the terror attack at 4 PM when he was in Corbett. PM Modi is learnt to have been angry about being reported late. He immediately held a review meeting till 4: 45 PM and this is also the reason why he did not go to the Rudrapur rally. He concluded the address through a phone in just five minutes.

The allegation of PM Modi having evening snacks at a Circuit House has also turned out to be false. As per senior government officials, PM Modi had left for Bareilly after being apprised about the Pulwama terror attack. Senior government officials said, “A decision was taken to have another review after an hour. So, PM halted at a rest house in Ramnagar and again reviewed the situation and gave the needful orders. After this second review meeting, PM left for Bareilly by road and then took a flight to Delhi at night.”
It is clear that without even having the knowledge of how PM Modi reacted after the dastardly terror attack, the Congress tried to slander PM Modi. This was a rather insensitive attempt by the Congress to mislead the entire nation about the Prime Minister’s conduct in order to take political advantage of the national anger generated after the terror attack in Pulwama.
