Donald Trump would be in his last year of presidency in 2020 and, progressive Americans, as they have always done, in no denial to Trump’s chances of getting re-elected, are already in search of the next president. The search might not come to a conclusion before the result day but the media has already, though with a dilly-dally approach, started to corner the prospective candidate(s) it thinks should not get the top post. Not perturbed by the same treatment, Trump went on to become the president and would in no probability wish Tulsi Gabbard the same luck.
To talk about the upcoming presidential elections, yes it would be the similar i.e. poised between Democrats and Republicans but the name ‘Tulsi Gabbard’ is sure to add some vigor and ‘controversy’ in the elections.
Having served in the military, Tulsi Gabbard needs no certification whatsoever but the progressive brigade has managed to find something ‘disputable’ in her recognition, forcing them to roll up sleeves and level her of belonging to the ‘far right’. Those who perished in Iraq or have spent more than half of their lives in Afghani barracks, if are deemed not fit to serve nation’s top post, and are stamped as ‘far right’ then yes, the America which seeks to become great again rests on far-right soldiers only. Tulsi Gabbard who served the American causes in the venues mentioned above, must not remain a Fox News material while those posing as progressive media must also give heed to what Tulsi Gabbard has in offing for the US.
Moreover, Tulsi Gabbard is a Democrat and a Hindu and might win presidency being on active military service only after Harry Truman. And this can only be possible after she navigates what promises to be the most crowded Democratic primary scrum in history and then beat President Trump in November 2020. But it actually is not as easy as the writer has tried to put. Tulsi Gabbard before even allowing an iota of thought to hit her conscience about becoming the POTUS or even managing to win the support within the party, would need to deal with the hostile media.
After Tulsi Gabbard announced that she would be running for the Democratic Presidential Election, media seems to have started diving down deep to bring everything that exists in material or non-material to bully Tulsi and avert what can be historic in the entire US’s history i.e. a woman president in the oval office that too belonging to a minority community.
Moreover, Tulsi Gabbard is accused of taking unfamiliar positions on several policies of the Obama Administration. Her unconventional stance on Democratic policies under Obama brought her on the firmament and Gabbard became an increasingly requested guest for Fox News hosts and producers to appear on-air. They weren’t the only ones in television news who took notice: senior executives at Sinclair Broadcasting made appeals for Gabbard to appear on their networks after she rebuked Obama.
Is she being made to pay for her choice to speak up to what she thought not good in American Interests? The whimsicality of American media has ascended its peak as they seem to pick and choose candidates as per their own agenda. Gabbard has apologized for some of her stands which went against the Democratic fervor as she said, “First, let me say I regret the positions I took in the past, and the things I said. I’m grateful for those in the LGBTQ+ community who have shared their aloha with me throughout my personal journey.”
Strangely enough, Tulsi Gabbard who is a Democrat is hurled upon the same allegations that Donald Trump faced. Was Trump a right-wing leader or he is not a one now? Does Tulsi endorse a right-wing ideology? Why then she was allowed to continue with the Democrats? The media appears to have stirred the whole thing and made it a bizarre contest between Right Vs. Right. Where then goes the long celebrated American left or the Democrat identity starting from Andrew Jackson stretching to Obama.
It is of no surprise that anyone other than Gabbard would have been the most suitable one to be the President with the kind of qualification she holds but Tulsi having not the legacy of the ‘right kind’ of minority and with almost no baggage of persecution or concocted stories of sacrifices, finds it hard to break in to the zeal of ‘progressives’. She has become the target of the progressive lynch mob precisely because she does not fit into the category of the ‘glamorized’ minority, as a section which thrives on the narrative of ‘victimhood’.

While the progressive brigade adulates the ‘minority’ stars of Democrats such as Rashida Tlaib and Ortez, Tulsi Gabbard is being targeted because she belongs to the ‘wrong kind of minority’ and this double-standard shows why the progressive brigade stands for anything but social justice.
