In the popular imagination of Congress ecosystem, or in at least in the Maths department of Congress party, his stature in Indian politics is very high. The Congress cheerleaders strongly believe that ‘Rahul has come of age’. Furthermore, he has proved his credentials as a people’s leader, raising ground issues concerning the lives of poor people. Also, he has championed the rights of the labourers and farmers. Nowadays, Rahul Gandhi seems to be loving farmers as much as his brother-in-law, Robert Vadra loves farming.
Now, after installing Congress government in three states on these planks, Gandhi scion is back to his usual elite lifestyle. However, instead of Bangkok this time, he chose an Indian city to chill out. Rahul Gandhi is chilling at a five-star resort in Himachal Pradesh. Reports suggest that Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Vadra are staying at Wildflower Hall, an Oberoi’s group’s luxury resort, Shimla. The hotel has extremely expensive amenities. This is a five-star property with all the luxuries. Winter session of the Parliament is going on while Rahul Gandhi enjoys the vacation. It also sends the message that he doesn’t care about parliament and its sessions at all. His track record in the Parliament is already very poor and he appears to be working hard to exacerbate it further. He should have been in the parliament facing the questions on blatant lies spread by him on Rafale deal case.
Rahul Gandhi generally needs vacations after few days of campaigning in elections. In case, if somehow such a person manages to become PM then a break after every 10 days would be very much on cards.
According to some media reports, Rahul Gandhi, apart from holidaying, is visiting the hill state to see his sister’s under-construction house at Chharabra, about 14 km from Shimla. As millions of Indians toil in factories and fields, the family is planning to visit the new house that Priyanka Vadra is building in the pristine hill state, a nice getaway during India’s sweltering summers. It’s a summer abode.

It has been seen that Rahul Gandhi, the new champion of farmers and labourers, often travels to different parts of the world for quick foreign getaways. Sometimes he visits his grandmother, sometimes he visits foreign countries for mediation purposes, sometimes Gandhi scion uses the ‘vacation’ for brainstorming. There is a huge contrast between what Rahul Gandhi actually does and what his cheerleaders try to portray.
