As Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot on December 1 in a dreamy affair at the Umaid Bhawan palace in Jodhpur, the fireworks lit up the sky. With all the wishes flooding in, came objections too for bursting fire crackers.
The wedding was something that every couple dreams of, a destination wedding filled with joy, laughter, celebrations, feasts, families bonding together, performing of various rituals etc. However, people didn’t take up desi-girl’s ‘hypocrisy’ that was seen during her wedding celebrations. During the time of Diwali, Priyanka Chopra took to twitter and wrote, “Those who know me well know that I’m an asthmatic. I mean, what’s to hide? I knew that I had to control my asthma before it controlled me. As long as I’ve got my inhaler, asthma can’t stop me from achieving my goals & living a #BerokZindagi. “

But, it seems that she did not act in accordance to her message of Diwali, as the fireworks at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan lit up the whole sky.

The Quantico star was trolled for her hypocrisy and the dubious stand. On one hand, she urged people on Diwali not to create pollution by burning fire crackers as she put out a video saying, “Please meri saans ko berok rakhiye. Diwali pe patakho ko skip kijiye,”(please keep my breathing unstoppable. Skip the crackers this Diwali) added to this she said that the festival should be celebrated with “lights and ladoos and love, and not pollution.”

While on the other hand, there were huge fireworks during the wedding ceremony.
Actually, it has become something very common with celebrities these days, they come out with a message on Diwali urging people not to light firecrackers and give their bit to environment by not spreading pollution and go eco-friendly. They also validate their point by saying that it causes a lot of pollution, harm animals and get troublesome for patients. But, when it comes to them, they resort to dubious stance as they celebrate their functions and events with fireworks and henceforth, they forget all what they preach.
Priyanka Chopra should understand that whatever she says goes in the public domain and is duly accepted by a lot of people. Being a global star, people follow whatever she comes out with and people admire her for being vociferous on various social issues.
But, when she talks about going eco-friendly, she must also do what she preaches. With fireworks unleashed and pollution getting underway, Priyanka’s actions and words seem contrary to each other. Hence, not standing up to her words got people aggravated as they started writing, “Diwali pe sabhi celebrities no crackers no pollution bolte hai or apne function me ye sbhi diya hua gyan khud hi bhul jate hai..”
People further added,“She was roaming around in Delhi with face mask on. And now on her own wedding she is causing such pollution to the environment.” etc.
Mrs. Jonas should get this thing straight: if she is preaching something then she also should adhere to it. People will only admire her when she stands up to whatever she says on social media and other public forums.
