In the age of social media, hypocrites and the peddlers of fake propaganda are taken to task by the masses for their wrongdoings. Recently the two people who were exposed by the social media are Pritish Nandy and Ramachandra Guha.

Recently Pritish Nandy, a journalist, film-maker and former parliamentarian used fake news to further his propaganda regarding the Statue of Unity. Pritish Nandy took to Twitter and wrote, “The statue of Sardar Patel is so tall that you can hardly see his face. If you did you will notice there is no resemblance to the real man.”

The image that he had shared also had the text, “This is what happens when Chines (sic) men will work on such projects”. In reality, the statue of Sardar Patel can be seen covered with a steel sort of frame in the top right corner of the image. In reality, there isn’t any covering on the actual Statue of Unity!

The sculpture that Nandy used to spread for his propaganda was made by internationally renowned Indian sculptor Jashuben Shilpi. It is a bronze statue that has already been built in the year 2008.

The masses were in no mood to spare Nandy and they lashed out at him.

No sir. It's wrong. Face resemble to Sardar Patel. Two days ago visited and seen. You also see. This is 15 ft height replica of 75 ft face of statue. pic.twitter.com/G5t0cdiVaL

— Chital Gandhi 🇮🇳 (@chitalgandhi) December 9, 2018

https://twitter.com/sidharthsurya/status/1071678483674226688

Finding himself rounded with controversy he committed another blunder as he replied, “This is the same statue. Look at the face. Outlook too has reproduced it. It is exactly the same.”

— Pritish Nandy (@PritishNandy) December 9, 2018

Nandy, was giving reference of that Outlook article which read, “How Is The Fake News Factory Structured”?
The sub-heading of which read, “Political parties of all hues are twisting facts, figures and photographs to lure voters as India gets ready for Elections 2019”.

It seems like the Poet, Journalist, Maker of films, Former Parliamentarian, Genesis International Humanitarian Award US Bangladesh Liberation War Award Founder People for Animals, Pritish Nandy’s didn’t do his homework well before posting the tweet.

The second in the list was the usual suspect, Ramachandra Guha. Guha recently posted his picture on twitter and wrote, “After a magical morning in Old Goa we had lunch in Panaji, where-since this is a BJP ruled state-I decided to eat beef in celebration.”

https://twitter.com/iabhisri1/status/1071438215872077824

Guha too had to bear the wrath of people as they befittingly replied him with their tweets.

The pic wasn’t in ‘bad taste’ @Ram_Guha, YOU leave a bad taste in everyone’s mouth with your hypocrisy, your callous disregard for animal rights, your phoney vegetarianism and your white lies! https://t.co/xohkbQaDC2

— Shefali Vaidya. 🇮🇳 (@ShefVaidya) December 10, 2018

Thax God , sense has prevailed & u have deleted ur pic eating beef .Can u celebrate eating dog or cat in Europe ?US has made cat & dog killing a crime. Eating habits has to be in conformity with popular culture & sentiments. Can u eat horse meat in France ? Be reasonable sir 🙏.

— Balbir Punj (@balbirpunj) December 9, 2018

https://twitter.com/iabhisri1/status/1071438215872077824

What was hilarious was the fact that Guha had earlier claimed to be vegetarian and these pictures are proof for the same.

Sir he deleted it since his bluff got called out. On one hand he calls himself vegetarian n next he tweets a photo having beef. Embarrassment really pic.twitter.com/2LLvFqw6MM

— Shiv (@Shiv1116) December 10, 2018

N now you will act as if its not you, like how most of your commie and congress friends do. Grow up man! Seriously. Btw BJP likes Ramachandra.. So why don't you change your name to Rahulgandhi das Or Soniagandhi das perhaps suits you better pic.twitter.com/K2QOKcYHX3

— Amrith (@ProudhinduRudra) December 10, 2018

https://twitter.com/BajajSamith/status/1071962148136398848

Even journalist, Rahul Kanwal questioned him on his dubious stance.

A beef eating vegetarian? @Ram_Guha https://t.co/a4jv4Qd3bB

— Rahul Kanwal (@rahulkanwal) December 7, 2018

After the backlash, he tried to salvage the situation and tweeted, “I have deleted the photo of my lunch in Goa as it was in poor taste. I do wish however to again highlight the absolute hypocrisy of the BJP in the matter of beef, and to reiterate my own belief that humans must have the right to eat, dress, and fall in love as they choose.”

— Ramachandra Guha (@Ram_Guha) December 9, 2018

The massive public backlash in both cases should serve as a reminder to the Lutyens cabal that we live in a digital world and information is no longer a privilege but is now freely available to all. Journalists can no longer peddle stories that they come up with in their private tea parties, as facts. The masses can and will take them on and will continue exposing their lies for as long as they continue to peddle false propaganda to further the cause of their favorite party.
