The Congress spokesperson, Sanjay Jha, lost his cool and openly declared that the Congress will sack known journalist, Arnab Goswami who has been appointed in the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, after it wins in 2019. It is highly objectionable and condemnable how a politician openly threatened to disrupt the career of a journalist out of inherent prejudices and hatred.
Pragya Tiwari had first tweeted that Pratap Bhanu Mehta has been replaced by Arnab Goswami in the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. She claimed that this amounted to removing ‘dissenters’ and replacing them with ‘non-dissenters’.

This itself was a highly concocted and biased construction of things. For the leftist liberals, every time someone belonging to their cabal is replaced by someone, it amounts to replacing dissenters. However, things further deteriorated when the Congress spokesperson, Sanjay Jha came into picture.
Sanjay Jha retweeted Pragya Tiwari’s tweet and openly declared that Arnab Goswami will be sacked after the Congress comes to power. In his tweet, Jha used highly distasteful language unbecoming of a party spokesperson. He labeled Arnab Goswami, a ‘bigot’ who spreads hatred and fake news polarising the society and a ‘RSS-BJP mole’ masquerading as a journalist.

It seems that Sanjay Jha being a Congress leader lives in the illusion that everything in the country- including government controlled institutions, are owned by the Congress and things should happen in a manner fancied by the Congress. As far as his allegations against Arnab Goswami are concerned, it goes on to show his party’s and his narrow mindedness due to which they cannot take any criticism. If anyone criticises or even refuses to go by the line that the Congress propagates, then the Congress and its ecosystem threatens such a person. Arnab Goswami is just an example of the vindictive nature of the Congress.
Not liking someone or his/ her mode of functioning is one thing, but Sanjay Jha issued an open threat to sack Arnab Goswami. This speaks volumes about how the Congress does not allow anyone who does not agree with its ideology to prosper. If you are not subservient to the Congress, then the Congress will not allow you to function freely. On one pretext or the other, the Congress will go after you and leave no stone unturned in order to ruin your career. And now the Congress seems to have made up its mind of going after Arnab Goswami if it gets a chance to do so. This is vindictive politics of the worst kind. Furthermore, it is a direct attack on a media person.
If there was anything to be cherished about Sanjay Jha’s distasteful tweet, it was his laughable claim of the Congress winning 2019 elections. Probably, he has forgotten the embarrassing prophecy that he had made in a tweet on July 29, 2013 in which he had said, “Please save this tweet; Congress will be the single largest party in 2014 and will lead a coalition comfortably above the majority.”

Everyone knows what happened in 2014 and his overconfident tweet was enough to further embarrass the grand old party after its pathetic performance in the 2014 general polls. It seems that Sanjay Jha’s tweet would yet again embarrass the Congress as the Rahul Gandhi led party’s prospects do not look very bright for the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year.
