Kamal Nath’s full video on Muslim appeasement released

In a development that has squarely exposed the Congress, Republic TV has accessed the full video of Madhya Pradesh Congress unit chief and senior leader Kamal Nath in which he can be seen highlighting the importance of Muslim votes for the grand old party. This has once again exposed desperation within the Congress for minority votes in general and Muslim votes in particular. In this video that is bound to land the Congress in hot soup, Kamal Nath can be seen arguing that it is only the Muslims that can make the Congress win.

He went on to say, “if we don’t get 90% Muslim votes then we will face a huge loss. We have the numbers. You know where the Muslims votes. You have to take care where those votes were cast. If we have received fewer votes then what are the reasons behind it. You have to postmortem the reasons behind it.” The way the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit chief can be clearly heard stating that the Congress might be harmed in a big way, it it does not get 90% of the Muslim votes, goes on to show how the Congress has realized that since it has appeased Muslims in the past. Now it has no choice but to aggressively woo the Muslim voters. It is totally dependent on appeasement politics in order to survive in the Indian political landscape.

Kamal Nath reiterated this argument and declared that even 80% of the Muslim votes would be insufficient and that the grand old party needs at least 90% of the Muslim votes. He added that the party leaders should do everything that they can. What is even more shocking is the fact that he unabashedly stated that this should be done before the election code of conduct comes into force.

In this video, he can also be seen appealing to the Muslim leaders in the meeting to find out the reasons due to which the Muslims did not come out to vote in sufficient numbers during the last assembly polls. He further said that the party has analysed the numbers and also argued that it must be found out whether the problem was that the party leaders did not bring members of the Muslim community to cast their vote. Kamal Nath seemed to be asking the Muslim leaders to ensure that members of the Muslim community come out and vote in the upcoming polls. He also asked them to formulate a strategy to bring this into effect. This goes on to show that the Congress is nervous about its potential to secure Muslim votes even as the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections are around the corner.

This is not for the first time that the Congress has shown its dependence, or in fact, over dependence on Muslim votes. The Congress on account of its appeasement politics has alienated the Hindus and now it does not have an option but to openly polarize the muslims, so they vote for them. Before the Karnataka polls, Ghulam Nabi Azad had openly tried wooing muslims and resorted to petty communal tricks. He even said that bringing the Congress to power would be a gratitude to Islam.

This video also shows that the soft Hindutva narrative that the Congress had been pursuing for quite some time was nothing but a sham. The Congress has realized that it is dependent on Muslim votes but at the same time it is trying to mislead the Hindu voters into voting for them. But this political strategy has now gone for a toss given the manner in which this video has exposed the desperation within the Congress to secure a lion’s share in Muslim votes.
