Sidhu’s love for Pakistan and hatred for South India is unfortunate

Navjot Singh Sidhu shows deep contempt for South Indians as he praises Pakistan again

It seems that cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu’s new found love for Pakistan isn’t going to leave him anytime soon. In a new low by even his own standards, Navjot Singh Sidhu has mocked the South Indians in a recent interview, saying that he would better prefer traveling to his ‘beloved Pakistan’ than going to a ‘confusing’ Southern India.

At the recently held Kasauli Literature Festival, Navjot Singh Sidhu was invited among the panelists. In his conversation with the media, he ranted about his love for Pakistan and their impeccable culture. To quote his speech, ‘……….Neither the language changes in Pakistan nor the people living there. But when you go to South India, everything changes from language to even the staple food. You need to learn English or Telugu if you want to live there, but there is no such compulsion in Pakistan.’

Navjot Singh Sidhu also tried to clarify why he hugged the Pakistan Army general. In a sly attempt to corner ‘PM Modi’, he said that ‘this was a warm and open hug unlike the Rafale deal’. But what raised eyebrows was his innate love for Pakistan, which ended with a cryptic attack, ‘I would rather go to Pakistan than to Southern India, where people can’t overcome their barriers………’

While we know that Navjot Singh Sidhu represents Congress, a party founded by the British and a party that truly inherited the British policy of Divide and Rule, but this is still unacceptable.

We need no special sermons on his love for Pakistan, just because the nation allegedly talked of opening a corridor for the Sikhs to ‘Kartarpur Sahib’, something which Pakistan denied flatly on face value. At a time, when their bloodthirsty mercenaries and terrorists brutally murder and mutilate our soldiers at the border, backed by the government machinery with full force, Mr. Sidhu has the courage of warmly hugging the Army chief of Pakistan, and even doesn’t mind sitting beside the PM of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, which is our region wrongly occupied by the Pakistani forces.

If Sidhu thinks that Pakistan is better than South India, he is actually accepting a murderous, bloodthirsty nation, whose foundations are based on religious hatred and extreme intolerance for humanity, and is actually struggling to survive over a region of India that is not only prosperous in resources, but also equally rich in culture and heritage and is a symbol of serenity.

Even though shocking, we shouldn’t be surprised by Sidhu’s current stance, since this is what Congress actually represents itself as. If their leaders can ask Pakistan’s help in removing Modi from power, Sidhu’s love for Pakistan is just natural. However, that doesn’t mean that Navjot Singh Sidhu has got a free licence to insult the South Indians on the basis of linguistic barriers. Has his party’s ‘Unity for Diversity’ rhetoric gone for a toss?  Or has he finally shown his deep contempt for India and their people?
