Pakistan has proven to be a safe haven for terrorists. Only terrorists are safe in Pakistan and they receive a great deal of hospitality from Pakistan government, Pakistan Army and ISI. The Pakistani establishment supports and nurtures terrorists. One proof of this was seen on Wednesday when Pakistan’s Supreme Court turned down an appeal filed by the federal government against an interim order of the Lahore High Court which permitted Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) charities to carry on their ‘social work.’
A two-member bench comprising of Justice Manzoor Ahmed and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood announced the verdict in favour of Hafiz Saeed. The apex court of Pakistan endorsed the Lahore High Court’s decision which asked the government to stop interfering in the matters pertaining to social welfares organizations of terrorist Hafiz Saeed. The court also gave consent to the legal activities of terrorist Hafiz Saeed’s organizations. Terrorist Hafiz Saeed celebrated the decision of apex court of Pakistan and termed the verdict as a “victory of justice and truth.”
Earlier, the Pakistan government had embargoed companies and individuals from making donations to JuD, FIF, and many other organisations which are on the UN Security Council sanctions list.
Hafiz Saeed, an UN-declared international terrorist with a US $10 million bounty on his head, enjoys unlimited freedom and care in Pakistan. He roams freely in the country, addresses massive rallies, and spews venom against India and Israel in his rallies. Pakistan government, in fact, treats him with ‘kid gloves’. Hafiz Saeed even started his own political party Milli Muslim League (MML).
Along with Pakistani government, people of Pakistan also support and admire Hafiz Saeed. He is very popular among the people of Pakistan. It’s a very well known fact that people of Pakistan have special affection for terrorists. Pakistan uses terrorism as their foreign policy to “bleed India with thousand cuts.” Hafiz Saeed is also part of this nefarious foreign policy. His charity works are ploy to recruit children and radicals for the proxy war against India. Hafiz Saeed and other terrorists and their support systems are part of Karachi project which is run by ISI and ex-servicemen of Pakistan army which is aimed to destabilize India.
Under this project Pakistan employs domestic outfits’ like JuD to carry terror attacks against India. These domestic outfits also run malicious and hate propaganda against India on social media. International terrorists like Hafiz Saeed are long term strategic assets for Pakistani establishment. Hatred of Hafiz Saeed for India is reflected in his following quote: “There cannot be any peace while India remains intact. Cut them, cut them so much that they kneel before you and ask for mercy”. It seems, this feeling is shared by the Pakistani establishment especially the judiciary. As noted Pakistani intellectual and Ambassador Hussain Haqqani has said, “Successive Pakistani leaders and most of the country’s intelligentsia preferred to build the ‘ideology of Pakistan’ on the twin pillars of Islam and antagonism towards India.”
