West district wing of the Delhi Police have arrested a 42 year old woman for trafficking minor girls from districts of Jharkhand. The woman Prabha Muni Minz used to run a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) reportedly under the name of Sarvodaya Adivasi Jan Kalyan Sanstha which acted as a shield for her illegal activities. Prabha Minz had built contacts with the right people to continue her immoral business affairs in New Delhi. The list of her contacts included that of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal. Prabha Minz is herself a converted Christian and photographs of her with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal from an event in Delhi which was held last year around Christmas have surfaced. This arrest could further trouble the Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. Former AAP MLA Kapil Mishra has even shared photographs of the event where Arvind Kejriwal and Prabha Minz can be seen sitting side by side.

Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West district said this after the arrest of Prabha Minz, “There was reward of Rs 25,000 declared on her arrest and she was also declared proclaimed offender by Jharkhand police. We got a tip-off about the woman following which she was arrested in Punjabi Bagh in west district. Her husband is absconding, but Minz has been sent to judicial custody and will be handed over to the Jharkhand police.”
Prabha Minz used to traffic girls as small as 13 to 14 year old for her illegal trade. The family of one such girl from the Simdega district in Jharkhand had filed an FIR with the state police after they were not able to contact their teenage daughter. It was after this incident that the Jharkhand Police had started to tighten the noose around Prabha Minz and her husband. The Delhi police had helped the Jharkhand police in their endeavours and they were finally able to get hold of the accused from Punjabi Bagh in west district of Delhi. The accused also has ties with many Christian missionary organisations which run in Jharkhand and Delhi. Her meeting with the AAP leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal too took place at a Christian gathering organised in Delhi. Missionary institutions have already come under the scanner in Jharkhand after many of them were found to be involved in illegal sale of children and women trafficking.
The trafficking of minor girls and women from poor states like Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh is a huge problem which threatens the lives of thousands of girls every year. Simple tribal girls are lured by the human traffickers with promises of getting them well paying jobs in Delhi and other nearby areas. Once the girls and their families are convinced they are sent off with the human traffickers who sell them off to house owners or to those operating sex racquets. Arvind Kejriwal needs to issue a clarification and apologise for having contacts with human traffickers. The accused must receive the harshest of punishments possible and leaders like Arvind Kejriwal should be made to apologise for sharing stage with criminals, not only does this blemish their individual image and the party’s but it also gives a boost to the criminals and makes them fearless.
